This activity allows you to modify the details of an asset group. You can carry out a search based on the code identifying the asset group and the description of the group. The system retrieves all the asset groups based on the search criteria entered, the child details can also be retrieved if required. You can modify the details like the description of the asset. You can also change the parent of an asset group. The system stores the login ID of the user and the system date along with the modified details.
Select the “Edit Asset Group” link under the “Asset Type Definition” business component.
The “Edit Asset Group” page appears.
Enter the following fields to search for the asset group for which you want to modify details:
Asset Group Code |
The code identifying the asset group for which you want to modify the details (Alphanumeric, 25). You can enter the code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the codes that are similar to the value entered here. |
Group Description |
A textual description of the asset group (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the asset codes that have descriptions similar to the value entered here. |
Child Group |
Check the box to retrieve the corresponding child group details. |
Click the “Get” pushbutton to retrieve the search results.
The system displays the following in the “Asset Group Details” multiline based on the search criteria entered:
Note: The system retrieves all the asset groups that are in the “Active” status.

The code identifying the asset group. |
Modify the following fields if required:
Asset Group Description |
A textual description of the asset group (Alphanumeric, 40). Mandatory. |
Parent Group |
A unique number identifying the asset group under which you want to create the new group (Alphanumeric, 25). The value entered in this field must be a valid asset code. |
Note: At least one row must be marked for selection.
Check the box in the “Select” column of the “Asset Group Details” multiline to mark an asset group code for which the modified details have to be saved.
Click the “Edit Group” pushbutton to save the modified asset group details.
The system stores the login ID of the user and the system date along with the modified details.
