Product Structure - An overview
Manufacturing parts in aviation industry requires defining various sub-assemblies or constituent parts. These sub-assemblies / constituent parts together define a product Structure. Each product structure represents one level of constituents, consists of materials or component parts or phantom parts for a manufactured part. Multiple product structures can be defined for a part.
You can create a product structure for a part, search the existing product structure along with the product structure class information and modify the product structure. You can also map constituent parts of the product structure to the individual tasks in the process plan. Engineering drawings can also be defined for the product structure / part / task.
The Product Structure business component allows you to perform the following:
4Create new product structure for a part
4Retrieve existing product structures
4Revise the existing product structure
4Map constituent parts of product structure to tasks in process plan
4Define engineering drawings for the for Product Structure / Part #
4Review Bill of Material (BoM) consisting of all the product structures along with their constituents
