The Bill of Materials (BOM) consists of all the product structures of the parent part, along with the constituents of each product structure. This screen lists all the product structure and its constituents in a hierarchical form.

The “View Bill of Materials” page appears.

The system displays the following in the header:

PS Part #

The number identifying the product structure part.

PS Class

The product structure class.

PS Revision #

The revision number of the product structure.

Part Type

The type of the product structure part.

Effective From / To

The date from which the product structure revision is active.

PS Category

The category of the product structure part.

Part Description

The textual description of the product structure part.

Normal View

Select this radio button to display all the product structure and their constituents in a hierarchical form. Refer ‘Example’.

Flattened View

If you select this radio button, all the product structure and their constituents are displayed in hierarchical form, except the Phantom parts. Refer ‘Example’.

Example: If ‘P2’ & ‘P3’ are constituent parts to ‘P1’ and if ‘P4’ and ‘P5’ are constituent parts to ‘P2’ and also ‘P2’ is a Phantom Part, the product structure is displayed in the following hierarchy:

Flattened View:

P1

          P4

          P3

Note: Phantom part ‘P2’ is not displayed in flattened view and its constituents are displayed in the next higher level.

The system displays the following in the “BOM Details” multiline:

Level Code

The level at which the parts occur in the hierarchy.

Seq. #

The sequence number of the part.

PS Part #

The product structure part number.

Part Description

The textual description of the part.

Total Quantity

The total quantity of the part in the product structure.

UOM

The UOM defined for the part.

Part Source

The source of the part which could be “On Loan”, “From Pool”, “Exchanges”, “Make”, “Subcontracting” or “Procurement”.

Source Strategy

The source strategy of the part which could be “Inventory”, “Procure” or “Make”.

Part Type

The type of the part.

PS Exists

Indicates whether product structure exists for the part.

PS Revision

The revision number of the product structure.

Effective From

The date from which the product structure revision is active.

Effective To

The date from until which the product structure revision is active.

Remarks

Any remarks related to the bill of materials.
