Selecting a part for updating sales information
This page allows you to search and select a part number to update the sales information. Tell me more.
Select the “Maintain Sales Information” link under the “Part Administration” business component.
The “Select Part #" page appears.
Enter the following field in the “Direct Entry” group box, if you are aware of the exact part number for which you wish to update sales information:
Part # |
The number identifying the part for which you wish to update sales information (Alphanumeric, 40). |
Select the “Maintain Sales Information” link provided alongside to update sales information.
Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for the part number for which you wish to update sales information. Data entry in the following fields is optional.
Part # |
The number identifying the part for which you wish to update sales details (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the part numbers that are similar to the value entered here. |
Manufacturer Part # |
The manufacturer part number of the part for which you wish to update sales details (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the part numbers that have manufacturer part numbers similar to the value entered here. |
Part Description |
The description of the part for which you wish to update sales details (Alphanumeric, 150). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the part numbers that have part description similar to the value entered here. |
Key Word |
The key word of the part for which you wish to update sales details (Alphanumeric, 25). You can enter the key word in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the part numbers that have key words similar to the value entered here. |
Part Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the part for which you wish to update sales details. The part could be of type “Raw Material”, “Component”, “Expendable”, “Tool”, “Consumable”, “Kit” or "Miscellaneous". |
Part Category |
Use the drop-down list box to select the category of the part for which you wish to update sales details. The system lists all the part categories that have been defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity, that are in “Active” status. |
Planning Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the planning status of the part for which you wish to update sales information. The planning status of the part could be “Active”, “Inactive” or “Fresh”. Leave the field blank, if you wish to retrieve all the part numbers irrespective of their status. |
Strip Part # |
The stripped number of the part without any special characters (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the parts having strip part number that is similar to the value entered here. |
Note: Leave all the fields blank, if you wish to retrieve all the part numbers available in the database.
Click the “Search” pushbutton to retrieve the search results.
Based on the search criteria, the system displays part numbers that are in the “Active” or “Under Creation” status, in the “Search Results” multiline.
Note: The system retrieves only those parts for which the usage is set as “Sales”, in the “Maintain Planning Information” activity.

Selecting a part for updating sales information – An overview
If you know the exact part number, you can enter it directly. Otherwise, you can carry out a search based on the part number, the part number issued by the manufacturer, the description of the part, the key word identifying the part, the type of the part, the category of the part and the reference and planning status of the part.
Based on the search criteria, the system retrieves all the part numbers, which are in the “Under Creation” or “Active” status.
