Selecting part for associating attributes
This page allows you to select a part for associating attributes. Tell me more.
Select the “Associate Attributes” link under the “Part Administration” business component.
The “Select Part #” page appears.
Enter the following field in the “Direct Entry” group box, if you know the part number for which you wish to associate the attributes.

The number identifying the part for which you wish to associate the attributes (Alphanumeric, 40). |
Select the “Attribute Part Mapping” link provided alongside to associate attributes to the part.
To search for a part
Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for a part. Data entry in the following fields is optional:
Part # |
The number of the part for which you wish to associate the attributes (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the part number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all part numbers that are similar to the number entered here. |
Manufacturer Part # |
The code identifying the manufacturer part number (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the parts that have manufacturer part numbers similar to the value entered here. |
Part Description |
The description of the part (Alphanumeric, 150). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the parts that have part description similar to the value entered here. |
Key Word |
The key word of the part for which you wish to associate attributes (Alphanumeric, 25). You can enter the key word in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the parts that have key words similar to the value entered here. |
Part Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the part. The system provides the options “Component”, “Raw Material”, “Consumable” “Expendable”, “Tool”, “Kit” and "Miscellaneous". Leave the field blank to retrieve parts irrespective of part types. |
Part Category |
Use the drop-down list box to select the category of the part. The system lists the part categories defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity that are in the “Active” status. |
Strip Part # |
The stripped number of the part without any special characters (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the parts having strip part number that is similar to the value entered here. |
Note: Leave all the fields blank, if you want to retrieve all the part numbers.
Click the “Search” pushbutton to retrieve the search results.
Note: The system retrieves only those parts that are in “Active” reference status.
The system retrieves the following in the “Search Results” multiline, based on the search criteria entered.

Click the hyperlinked part number in the multiline to associate attributes.
Selecting part for associating attributes – An overview
This page allows you to select the part for associating attributes to it. If you know the part number you can directly enter it. Otherwise, you can carry out a search based on the part number, manufacturer part number, part description, the key word identifying the part, the type and category of the part. The system displays details such as the part number, its description, key word, part type and part category in the multiline.
