Associating attributes to part or service – An overview
You can associate attributes to the part selected in the “Part Selection” page. You can enter the attribute code, the usage type of the attribute, attribute values and associate it to the part number.
Attributes may take typical numerical values or descriptive values depending on whether they are quantitative or qualitative. You can define minimum value, standard value and maximum value for the “Quantitative” type of attributes and standard qualitative value for “Qualitative” attribute.
Minimum value and maximum values are the respective values that can be allowed for the part in the measurement of the attribute. Standard value is the typical numerical value that is assigned to the part attribute. For e.g., You can enter a minimum value for the quantitative attribute “Diameter” of the part “Rod” as 3.5mm, maximum value as 3.7 and standard value as 3.6. For the qualitative attribute “Color”, the standard qualitative value can be “Black”.
You can specify the usage type for the attribute. Usage type helps us to check the attribute values at the time of purchase, sales or both and ensures adherence to the same. Also, you can indicate whether the particular attribute is trackable or not. If a particular attribute is trackable, all the lots and serial numbers to which the part is associated can inherit it.
You can also use this page to associate attributes to a service.
