Defining a recurring pay element

Ensure that you have are in the “Map Payset – Pay Element” page, you have selected a recurring pay element and defined its attributes. Select the “Recurring Pay Element” hyperlink to specify the value of the pay element.
The “Recurring Pay Element” page appears.
The system will also display the following.
Date Format |
The date format applicable to the login user. Tell me more |
Payset Definition Unit |
The payroll definition unit selected in the “Select Payset – Pay Element Mapping” page. |
Payroll Description |
The payroll selected in “Select Payset for Payset – Pay Element Mapping” page. |
Payset Code |
The code of the payset selected in the previous page. |
Payset Description |
The description of the payset selected. |
Pay Element Code |
The code of pay element selected in the previous page |
Pay Element Description |
The description of the pay element code. |
Enter or select the following fields
Amount |
If the value of the pay element is to be a flat amount, enter this amount. |
Rule |
If the value is based on a rule, enter the rule name. |
Note that the rule is defined in the “Stored Procedure Builder”. | |
Process Every |
Enter the number that indicates the frequency at which the pay element is processed. For example, if the number is 3, it implies that the pay element will be processed during every third process period. If the number specified is 1, the pay element will be processed every process period. |
Effective from Process Period |
The process period starting from which the pay element value is effective |
Effective to Process Period |
The process period until which the pay element value is effective. |
To indicate whether a history of the modifications is maintained
Enter the following fields

The drop-down list box contains two values: “Correct” and “Update”. |

New Effective From Process Period |
If the value modification option you chose is “Update”, specify the process period from which the changes will be effective. |
To indicate whether mapping is applicable for arrears
Enter the following.
Arrears |
Select “Yes” to indicate that the value will be applicable for arrears. Select “No” to indicate the value is applicable only for the process periods for which payroll processing has not been performed. |
Select the “Save” pushbutton to save the details entered.
Select the book icon beside the “Comments” field. The system displays a dialog box containing the comments that were entered previously, if any.
You can view, modify or delete the content.
Select the “OK” pushbutton to save the details and return to the previous page.
Select the “Cancel” pushbutton to return to the previous page without saving the details entered.
Select the “Save” pushbutton to record the changes done to the payset record.

Whether a history of modifications is maintained Value: You can specify the value of the pay element as a flat amount, for example 4000. Alternatively, you can specify a rule name. Based on the rule, the system calculates the pay element value, after you save the details. Note that the actual rule is defined in the Stored Procedure Builder.
The frequency at which a pay element will recur: You are to specify the number of times the pay element is processed within a process period.
Validity: Through this page, you are to also decide
The range of the process periods for which the pay element is effective.
Whether the pay element value you defined is applicable for arrears.
Whether a history of modifications is maintained: You can decide whether the system must maintain a history of the modifications that will be carried out on the payset-pay element mapping. If you opt for it, you are to also provide the process period from which the current modification will come into effect.
