Mapping reporting relationship
Click the “Map Reporting Relationship” hyperlink in the Project Resource Allocation page.
The “Map Reporting Relationship” page appears.
The “Date Format” field displays the date format applicable to the login user.
The System retrieves the following fields from the Project Resource Allocation page.
Employment Unit |
The drop-down list displays the employment unit where the project is defined. |
Project |
The short description of the project. |
To establish employee-supervisor relationship
The system defaults the “Employee Code” column in the multiline with the values specified in the “Project Resource Allocation” page.
Enter / select the following fields in the multiline.
Supervisor’s Employment Unit |
From the drop-down list box, select the employment unit to which the supervisor belongs. The drop-down list box displays all employment units for which the login user has permissions. |
Supervisor Code |
The code of the supervisor. |
Supervisor’s Assignment No |
The assignment number for the supervisor. |
Start Date |
The date from which the employee starts reporting to the supervisor. The value in the “Start Date” field must be the same as or later than the value in the “Start Date” field of the “Project Resource Allocation” page. |
End Date |
The date on which the employee stops reporting to the supervisor. The value in the “End Date” field must not be later than the “End Date” in the “Project Resource Allocation” page. If this field is not specified, the system defaults it to the “End Date” of the “Project Resource Allocation” page. |
The System displays the following fields.
Employment Unit |
The drop-down list displays the employment unit of the employee. |
Employee Name |
The name of the employee. |
Assignment No |
The number of the assignment. |
Supervisor Name |
The name of the supervisor. |
Select the “Save” pushbutton.
Note: An employee may not be associated with the same supervisor for the entire assignment period. Hence employee’s association with the supervisor may or may not coincide with the dates when employee is associated with the project. For e. an employee may be associated with the project from Jan 2003 to December 2003. However the employee could report to supervisor “A” for period of January 2003 to June 2003 and then to supervisor “B” for the rest of the assignment period. However an employee can report to only one supervisor at any given time.
To alter a reporting relationship
Ensure that the required “Employment Unit” and “Project” fields are displayed at the top of the page. The system defaults the “Employee Code” column in the multiline with the values specified in the “Project Resource Allocation” page.
Edit the following fields for the existing records in the multiline: “Supervisor’s Employment Unit”, “Supervisor Code”, Supervisor’s Assignment No”, “Start Date” and “End Date”.
The System defaults values in the following fields: "Employment Unit", "Employee Name", "Assignment No" and "Supervisor Name".
Select the “Save” pushbutton.
