Select the required employee record, either through the “Direct Entry” group box or through the “Search Criteria” group box.
Use this method if you know the complete employee code of the required employee.
Enter the complete employee code of the employee for whom you want to initiate the rehire process, in the “Employee Code” field.
Select the “Initiate Employee Rehire Process” hyperlink beside.
The “Initiate Employee Rehire” page appears. All details of the selected record are displayed.
To initiate employee rehire, refer to the topic “Initiating Employee Rehire”.
Use this method, if you know just a few characters of the employee code. In the search option, you can specify search criteria, with or without wild cards for a range of employee details. The system fetches the employee records that match the combination of search criteria specified. To increase the probability of finding the closest matching records, you can specify values for as many details as possible.
For example, if you specify search parameters for the name and code of the employee and the department in which he/she is previously employed, the system fetches the records that match these criteria. If in addition, you specify the employee’s previous employment unit or enter the dates to indicate the probable period in which the employee was hired/rehired or was separated, you can narrow your search to the closest matching records. To further simplify the search, you can search among records with a specific job title or authorization status also.
Enter the following search criteria values, in some or all of the following fields.
Employee's Prev Employment Unit |
The description of the employment unit to which the employee was attached at the time of his/her separation. From the drop-down list box, select the description of the employee’s previous employment unit. |
Employee Code |
The unique employee code of the separated employee. To view all the employee codes containing specific characters, type in the starting character or characters of these employee codes. |

Alternatively, type in these characters in any combination with wild cards. Example. ECC1*, will search for those employee codes that start with ECC1. Other examples are *ECC1 and EC*C1. |
Employee Name |
The name of the separated employee. To view all the employee names containing specific characters type in the starting character or characters of these employee names. |

Alternatively, type in these characters in any combination with wild cards. Example: To get Jonathan, type in JO*, to search for those employee names that start with JO. Other examples are *NATHAN, JO*AN, and JONATH*. |
4 Use the fields below to specify dates to indicate the probable period during which the employee joined the organization.
Date of Joining From |
The date on or after which the separated employee joined the organization. Enter a probable date to indicate. Example: If you enter 09/16/01, the system fetches the records of employees who joined on or after this date. |
Date of Joining To |
The date before which the separated employee joined the organization. Enter a probable date to indicate. Example: If you enter 11/11/01, the system fetches the records of employees who joined before this date. |
Note: If you enter both the “Date of Joining From” and “Date of Joining To” details, the system fetches the record from the records of employees who joined during this period.
Separation Date From |
The date on or after which the employee has been separated from the organization. Enter a probable date to indicate. Example: If you enter 10/12/01, the system fetches the records of employees who were separated on or after this date. |
Separation Date To |
The date before which the employee has been separated from the organization. Enter a probable date to indicate. Example: If you enter 25/12/01, the system fetches the records of employees who were separated before this date. |
Note: If you enter both the “Separation Date From” and “Separation Date To” details, the system fetches the record from the records of employees who were separated during this period.
Position Title |
The description of the position held by the separated employee. To view all the descriptions of the position titles containing specific characters, type in the starting character or characters of these position title descriptions. |

Previous Department Description |
The description of the department to which the separated employee belongs. To view all the descriptions of the departments containing specific characters, type in the starting character or characters of these department descriptions. |

Job Title |
The description of the job held by the separated employee. To view all the descriptions of the job titles containing specific characters, type in the starting character or characters of these job title descriptions. |

Alternatively, type in these characters in any combination with wild cards. Examples: MAR* MANAGER, *PROGRAMMER, and SENIOR* MANAGER. |
Eligible for Rehire |
Indicate if you want to search for the records of separated employees certified as eligible for rehire or otherwise. The eligibility for rehire status is recorded at the time of effecting an employee’s separation. From the drop-down list box, select the required value such as, “Yes” or “No”. If you select “Yes” the system fetches the records of employees who are certified as eligible for rehire, select “No” to look for the records of employees certified as not eligible for rehire. |
Authorization Status |
Indicates the status of the record which you want to select. Select one of the following options, from the drop-down list box: If you select, |

¡ “Pending Authorization”, you indicate that you want to view all the employee for whom rehire is yet to be authorized. |

¡ “Authorize - Reject”, you indicate that you want to view all the employee for whom rehire has been rejected. |

¡ “None”, you indicate that you want to view all the employee for whom rehire is not been initiated. |
Select the “Search” pushbutton.
Note: If only one search criteria value is entered, the system will fetch the records that satisfy this value. If more than one search criteria value is entered, the system will fetch the records satisfying all the specified values. If you do not enter any value in the search criteria group box and select the “Search” pushbutton, the system will fetch all the records that are available for the selected employee movement unit.
The system displays the following details in the multiline, for the employee movement records that satisfy the search criteria specified.
Employee Code |
The unique code of the employee. |
Employee Name |
The name of the employee. |
Employee’s Prev Employment Unit |
The name of the organization unit in which the employee was previously employed. |
Previous Position Title |
The position applicable to the employee’s previous job, for example, Senior Manager, or Vice President. |
Previous Department |
The description of the department in which the employee was previously employed, for example, Finance, or HR. |
Previous Job Title |
The title of the employee’s previous job, for example, Senior Marketing Manager, HR executive etc. |
Separation Date |
The date on which the employee was separated from the organization. |
Date of Joining |
The date on which the employee joined the organization. |
Eligible for Rehire |
Indicates if the employee is eligible for rehire or otherwise. The system displays the recorded value such as, “Yes” or “No” to accordingly indicate if the employee is eligible for rehire or otherwise. “Yes” indicates the employee is eligible for rehire, “No” indicates otherwise. |
Authorization Status |
The status of the corresponding record in the multiline, for example, “Pending Authorization”, or “Authorize - Reject”. “None”. |
Select the hyperlink on the name of the required employee movement record in the “Search Results” multiline.
The “Initiate Employee Rehire” page appears.
You can use the page to initiate the rehire process for the selected employee.
