The title of each job defined in the “Create Job” activity, for the organization unit you selected in the “Career Planning Setup” drop-down list box. |
No of Career Tracks Defined |
The number of career tracks defined for this job, until date. When you are about to define career tracks for this job for the first time, the value will be 0. |
4 Select the job for which the career track must be defined, by checking beside the job title in the “Select” column.
4 Select the “Get Career Tracks” pushbutton.
4 From the “Career Track” drop-down list, select “New Track”.
4 Enter the following in the “Define Possible Jobs” multiline, which is blank.

4 The system displays the following details of the career track you selected, in the “Define Possible Jobs” multiline.

4 The system displays the details of the selected career track, in the “Define Possible Jobs” multiline.

4 The system deletes the career track for the selected job.

A career track refers to a specific sequence of jobs originating from a given job. For every job in the sequence within a career track, the following information is defined in the Career Setup component:
¡ Sequence number of each job
¡ Unit structure setup
¡ Job code
¡ Job title
You can edit the items of information in the career track, if required, so that it evolves into a full-fledged career plan of the employee. This activity will be carried out in the “Employee Career Plan” activity. The career plan will contain the following items of information, for every job in the sequence:
¡ Sequence number of each job in the career plan
¡ Unit structure setup
¡ Job code and title
¡ Department code and description
¡ Position title
¡ Work location.
Essentially, a career plan refers to the sequence of assignments or jobs that an employee undergoes during the entire span of his career, which are based on his skills and interests. These jobs enable the employee to grow holistically and contribute better to the productivity of the organization
