This activity allows you to define the compensation details for a newly created assignment of the employee. The Employee Compensation component is normally used to define the base salary attributes for an employee assignment.
For example, a clerk in an organization can have two assignments associated with his/her job. The base salary is separately defined for the two assignments. The base salary attributes are as follows: Base Salary Amount, Payment Frequency, Rated Frequency and Currency.
Apart from defining the base salary for an employee assignment, the employee compensation is critical for the following reasons:
It affects the productivity of the employees.
It affects the disposition of the employees to stay with the organization.
Employees’ salaries and expenses form a major part of the employer’s expenses.
The ‘View Internal Equity’ feature allows you to compare the compensation of other employees before setting the base salary for the employee. You can carry out comparative studies from various perspectives. For instance, you can compare the compensation packages drawn by other employees holding similar position as the selected employee, but carrying out different assignments.

Use the search criteria fields to specify the details of the employees having the same qualification, experience etc as the selected employees but holding different assignments.
The system displays the compensation details of these employees which you can use to compare with the compensation specified for the selected employee.
