Using online help

The “View Appraisal Calendar” page appears. The system displays the following details of the selected appraisal calendar

Appraisal Setup Unit

The organization unit selected in the "Select Appraisal Calendar to View" page.

Date Format

The date format that is applicable to the login user.

Appraisal Type

The type of the appraisal. It can be one of the following:

  •  Annual Appraisal

  •  Confirmation Appraisal

  •  Contract End Appraisal

  • Any other user-defined through quick codes

Appraisal Calendar Code

The unique code that identifies the appraisal calendar.

Calendar Short Description

The short description of the calendar. 

Calendar Long Description

The long description of the calendar.

Period From                       

The date from which the appraisal calendar starts.

Period To                            

The date on which the appraisal calendar ends.

Valid Upto

The date until which the appraisal calendar is valid. It is the date within which the appraisal exercise must be completed.

Maximum Rating

The number to indicate the maximum rating assigned for the appraisal calendar.

This number will be the same as the highest / maximum rating in the multiline.

Grading details

Appraisal Grade

Each grade for which the ratings have been specified.

Rating From

The number to indicate the lower limit of the rating, for this grade.

Rating To

The number to indicate the upper limit of the rating, for this grade.

Parameters details

Appraisal Is Employee Assignment Specific

 “Yes,” indicates the appraisal is specific to the employee’s assignment.

 “No” indicates the contrary.

Appraisal Acceptance By Employee Before Countersigning Officer Review

 “Yes,” indicates that the employee will accept the appraisal, before it is given it to the countersigning officer for reviewing.

“No” indicates the contrary.

Appraisal Rate Grade Help Display Format

The format for the display of the Appraisal Rate Grade Help.  One of the following is displayed: Scale-Grade or  Grade Only.

  • If “Grade” is displayed, the Help page displays the following: Appraisal Grade Code and Grade Description fields.

  • If “Scale Grade” is displayed, the Help page displays the following: Appraisal Grade Code, Grade Description, Rating From and Rating To fields.

Appraisal Rating/Grading Calculation 'Is Based On

One of the following methods is displayed, for calculating  the appraisal rate-grade: “Mean Value Rating’ or ‘Upper Limit Rating’

  • If you ‘Upper Limit Rating’ is displayed, the system calculates the appraisal rating by taking into account the upper limit of the rating defined for the grade. For example, the “Appraisal Grade” is “Very Good”, the “Rating From” is 80.1, and the ‘Rating To’ is 90. During the overall appraiser/appraise rating at the end, the system will take this value to be 90. Example.

  • If ‘Mean Value Rating’ is displayed, the system calculates the appraisal rating based on the mean value of the lower and upper limits defined for the appraisal. Using the same example above, the system will take the value to be 85, which is the mean.
