Through the Appraisal Setup component, you can set up all the basic information required to perform appraisal for employees.
You can start by defining the start and end dates of the appraisal calendar; this calendar is the period during which the employees will be appraised. You also define the complete list of objectives against which employees can be appraised.
One of the main ingredients of the appraisal setup is the evaluation template, which you can define after objectives. The evaluation template consists of a set of objectives with a specified weightage assigned to each, which you can use to evaluate the performance of employees. You can use existing objectives to create the evaluation template, or define new objectives specifically for this template
Optionally, you can define the potentials against which different groups of employees must be appraised. Potentials refer to qualities that the organization requires specific groups of employees to possess, in order to provide value-addition to their jobs.
Once the evaluation template is defined, you can make it applicable to different groups of employees. This procedure is called mapping appraisal templates to employees. Tell me more.
The different groups of employees to which the template can be mapped refer to employees belonging to different combinations of department, position, grade set, grade, job, etc.
The Appraisal Setup component also allows you to define the bonus or increment that will apply to different groups of employees. You can group employees based on appraisal grades, rates, service periods, department, position, etc. The bonus or increment can be either a percentage of the employee’s base salary or a flat amount.
Additionally, you can define the bonus or increment separately for the individual employees who are exceptions to the groups to which they belong.
