Viewing stock balance across locations
Select the “Inquire Stock Balances Across Locations” link under the “Stock Maintenance” business component.
The “Inquire Stock Balances Across Locations” page appears.
Enter the fields in the “Search Criteria” group box, to search for the stocking location in which you wish to view the stock balance.
Stocking Location |
Use the drop-down list box to select the stocking location for which you wish to view the stock balance. The system lists all the organization units where stock is being maintained. |
Warehouse # |
Enter the warehouse in the “Stocking Location” field, for which you wish to view the stock balance. The Warehouse must have been already defined in the “Create Warehouse Information” activity of the “Storage Administration” business component and should be in “Active” status. |
Part # |
The number identifying the part available in the warehouse (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the part number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the part numbers that are similar to the value entered here. |
Part Description |
The textual description of the part. |
Part Group |
Use the drop-down list box to select the part group for which you wish to view the stock balance details. The system lists all “Active” part groups as defined in the “Create Part Groups” activity of the “Part Administration” business component. |
Part Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the part available in the warehouse for which you wish to view the stock balance. The part type could be “Raw Material”, “Component”, “Expendable”, “Tool”, “Kit”, "Miscellaneous" or “Consumable”. |
Condition |
Use the drop-down list box to select the condition of the part. The condition of the part could be “New”, “Overhaul”, “Serviceable” or “Unserviceable”. |
Stock Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the stock status of the part. The system lists all user-defined stock statuses defined in the “Create User Defined Stock Status” activity of the “User Defined Stock Status” business component. |
Serial # |
Enter the serial number of the part, for which you wish to view the stock balance details across locations. (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the serial numbers similar to the value entered here. |
Lot # |
Enter the lot number of the part, for which you wish to view the stock balance details across locations. (Alphanumeric, 18). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the lot numbers similar to the value entered here. |
Trading Partner Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the trading partner type. The system lists the following options:
The system leaves the field blank by default. |
Trading Partner # |
The unique code identifying the supplier or customer (Alphanumeric, 45). You can enter the trading partner code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the reference document numbers with the trading partner code entered here. |
Check one or more of the following ‘Display Option’, to view the stock balance selectively:
With Zero Quantity |
Check this box to display the parts with the current stock balance in the warehouse as zero. |
With Trading Partner Info. |
Check this box to display the parts along with the corresponding trading partner information. |
Click the “Search” pushbutton, to retrieve the search results.
The system displays the following in the “Stock Information” multiline based on the search criteria entered:
Part # |
The number identifying the part. |
Part Description |
The textual description of the part. |
Stocking Location |
The stocking location for which the stock balance is displayed. |
Warehouse # |
The code identifying the warehouse. |
Description |
The textual description of the warehouse. |
Stock Status |
The stock status of the part, which could be “Accepted”, “Rejected”, “Held” or “Quarantine”. |
UOM |
The unit of measurement in which the part is stocked in the warehouse. |
Total Quantity |
The total quantity of the part available in the warehouse. |
Available Quantity |
The total quantity of the part available in the warehouse in the Particular Stock Status. Available Qty = Total Qty-Allocated Qty. |
Allocated Qty |
The quantity of part allocated in the given Stock Status. |
Planning Type |
The method in which the part requirement is planned. This could be "Reorder Level", "Min-Max", "Disposition" or "None". |
Part Type |
The type of the part as defined in the “Part Administration” business component. It could be “Raw Material”, “Component”, “Expendable”, “Tool”, “Kit”, "Miscellaneous" or “Consumable”. |
Condition |
The condition of the part. It could be “New”, “Overhauled”, “Serviceable” or “Unserviceable”. |
Trading Partner Type |
The trading partner type which could be “Supplier” or “Customer”. |
Trading Partner # |
The unique code identifying the supplier or customer. |
Trading Partner Name |
The name of the supplier or customer. |
Note: If the “Trading Partner Type” is set as “Customer” and the trading partner number is not entered in the search criteria, the system retrieves and displays only those serial/lot or serial and lot-controlled parts whose stock status attribute “Ownership-Customer” is set to “Yes” in the “User Defined Stock Status” business component. Also the system displays “Customer” as the trading partner type, customer number as the trading partner number and customer name as the trading partner name along with the part details in the multiline, from the “Customer” business component.
Note: If the “Trading Partner Type” is set as “Supplier” and the trading partner number is not entered in the search criteria, the system retrieves and displays only those serial/lot or serial and lot-controlled parts whose stock status attribute “Ownership-Supplier” is set to “Yes” in the “User Defined Stock Status” business component. Also the system displays “Supplier” as the trading partner type, supplier number as the trading partner number and supplier name as the trading partner name along with the part details in the multiline, from the “Supplier” business component.
Note: The system retrieves and displays the serial/lot or serial & lot controlled parts, and none-controlled parts from the stocking location-warehouse-zone-bin to which the customer or supplier is mapped in the “Maintain External Stock Allocation” page of the “Storage Administration” business component, based on the trading partner type and the trading partner # specified in the search criteria.
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline, to mark a part to view the stock balance in the selected warehouse.
Select the “View Warehouse Stock Balances”, link at the bottom of the page to view the stock balance in the warehouse.
Select the “View Material Count & Location Details” link at the bottom of the page, to view the material count and location details of the part.
