This page allows you to maintain the core value for the component. Tell me more.

The “Maintain Core Value” page appears.

Note: This page can be invoked under the following conditions:

  1. The status of the GR document must be "Moved" or "Partially Moved".

  2. The Expensing Policy must be set as “Core Value On Phase Out” in the “Maintain Planning Information” activity of the “Part Administration” business component.

  3. The stock status selected in the multiline must have ownership attribute set as "Internal" in the  “User Defined Stock Status” business component.

The system displays the following:

Date Format

The format in which the date fields are displayed in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format as defined in the organization.

Parent Component #

The number identifying the parent component (Alphanumeric 90). You can enter the code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the component numbers that are similar to the value entered here.

Serial #

The serial number of the part for which you wish to maintain the core value. (Alphanumeric 40). You can enter the code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the serial numbers that are similar to the value entered here.

Part #

The number identifying the part for which you wish to maintain the core value. (Alphanumeric 40). You can enter the code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the part numbers that are similar to the value entered here.

Part Category

Use the drop-down list box to select the category of the part. The system lists all the ‘active’ quick codes defined under the quick code type “Part Category” in the “Create Quick Codes” activity of the ”Part Administration” business component. The system displays blank, by default.

Part Description

The description of the part. (Alphanumeric, 150). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the parts that have part description similar to the value entered here.

Part Classification

Use the drop-down list box to select the classification to which the part belongs. The system displays the following options:

  • Rotable - Components that are used across aircraft during their active life cycle are classified as rotable.

  • Repairable - Components of this type have a finite life, but can be repaired during their active life cycle.

  • Controllable - Components that normally have a high annual consumption value. The procurement of such components is controlled. Some of these components may have to be replaced on reaching their prescribed life limit. The life of such components must be tracked.

The system displays blank, by default.

Warehouse #

Use the drop-down list box to select the warehouse in which the part is stored. The warehouse must have been defined in the “Create Warehouse Information” activity of the “Storage Administration” business component and must be in “Active” status. The system displays blank, by default.

Parent Aircraft Reg #

The registration number of the parent aircraft to which the part is attached. (Alphanumeric, 30). You can enter the code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the aircraft registration numbers that are similar to the value entered here.

Display Option

Use the drop-down list box to select the display option of the part. The system lists the following options:

  • Parent Assembly – Select this option to display only the parent assembly components.

  • All – Select this option to displays all the components at all levels.

The system displays “Parent Assembly” by default.

Source Document #

The number identifying the source document. (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the document numbers that are similar to the value entered here.

Initialized ?

Use the drop-down list and select “Yes” or “Nor to indicate whether the core value is defined for the part or not.  The system displays “No” by default.

Status

Use the drop-down list to select the status of the part. The system lists the options “Fresh”, “Confirmed” and “Amendment”. BY default, the system displays blank.

Currency

The base currency of the company.

The system displays the following in the “Core & Variable Value Details” multiline:

Note: The system retrieves and displays the part description, part category, ATA # and the part classification from the “Part Administration” business component.

Note: The system retrieves and displays the warehouse number from the “Storage Administration” business component.

Component #

The number identifying the component.

Part #

The number identifying the part for which you wish to maintain the core value.

Note: The system retrieves and displays only those parts for which the “Expensing Policy” is set as “Core Value on Phase Out” in the “Maintain Planning Information” activity of the “Part Administration” business component.

Serial #

The code identifying the serial number of the part.

Core Value

The core value defined for the component. (Alphanumeric, 28). Ensure that a positive value is entered here. The core value must be lesser than the total value.

The system displays the following:

Variable Value

The variable value of the component, which is the difference between the total value and the core value of the part.

Total Value

The stock value of the part. (Alphanumeric, 28). Ensure that a positive value is entered here.

Note: The total value can be modified only for those components that are updated through Aircraft Readiness Log and are in “Fresh status”.

Note: The total value of the part cannot be modified if the “Status” drop-down list box is set as “Amended”.

Note: You cannot modify this field if stock balance is available for the part or the serial number in any of the warehouses.

Part Description

The description of the part.

Remarks

Any additional comments pertaining to the core and variable value details of the part. (Alphanumeric, 150).

The system displays the following:

Part Category

The category to which the part belongs.

ATA #

The ATA chapter, to which the part belongs

Warehouse #

The number identifying the warehouse in which the part is stored.

Aircraft Reg#

The registration number of the aircraft to which the part is attached.

Part Classification

The classification to which the part belongs, which could be “Rotable”, “Repairable” or “Controllable”.

Status

The status of the part, which could be “Fresh”, “Confirmed” or “Amendment”.

Amendment #

The unique code identifying the amendment made.

Source Document Type

The type of the source document.

Lead Parameter Value

The value of the lead parameter defined for the part or the component.

Lead Parameter

The lead parameter defined for the part or the component.

Note: The system retrieves and displays the lead parameter value and the lead parameter from the “Maintain Maintenance Info. for Part” activity of the “Aircraft” business component.

As On Date

The date on which the core value of the part is recorded.

Remaining Life %

The remaining life percentage of the component, after it has gone overhaul or repair.

Last Updated Document Type

The type of the document that was last updated.

Last Updated Document #

The code identifying the document that was last updated.

TSN

The present value of the flying hours of the component since its new.

CSN

The present value of the flying cycles of the component since its new.

TSO

The cumulative flying hours of the component since its last overhaul in the shop.

CSO

The cumulative flying cycles of the component since its last overhaul in the shop.

TSI

The cumulative flying hours of the component since its last inspection in the shop.

CSI

The cumulative flying cycles of the component since its last inspection in the shop.

Initialized Core Value

The initialized core value of the part.

Initialized Variable Value

The initialized variable value of the part.

Initialized Total Value

The initialized total value of the part.

Initialized By

The name of the user who initialized the core value.

Initialized Date

The date on which the core value was initialized.

Updated By

The name of the user who updated the core value.

Updated Date

The date on which the core value was updated.

Note: Ensure that at least one record is selected in the multiline.

Note: The system updates the status of the part from “Confirmed” to “Amendment”.

Note: The system increments the amendment number by one, each time when the status of the part is changed from “Confirmed” to “Amendment”.

Note: The system ensures that a value is specified in the “Status” drop-down list and is other than “Confirmed”, on clicking the “Confirm Core Value” pushbutton.

Maintaining core value of the part– An Overview

Maintain Core Value - A summary of the activity

This activity allows you to update the core value of the parts. You can search and select a part for updating its core value. You can carry out a search based on the parent component number, serial number, part number, part category, part description, warehouse number, aircraft registration number, display option of the part, source document and status of the part.
