Page overview

The “Set Options” page appears.

To define parameters for the first time

Initial Start Date for Reliability Analysis

The date of commencement of reliability analysis for the organization unit Mandatory (Date Format).

Note: You cannot specify a future date as the start date for reliability analysis.

The “Option Setting List” multiline displays the following:

Category

The category of the parameter, such as Analysis Options, Component Analysis Options, Discrepancy Deferral Options, Flight Operation Options Occurrence Type options, Report Generation Options and Report Display Options.

Parameter

The name of the parameter. This column displays all the parameters available in the system.

See Parameter list

Permitted Value

The available options for the parameter.

Status

Indicates whether the parameter has been defined or not.

Error Message

The error message the system displays when the value entered is not a permitted value.

Value

The value of the parameter.

See Impact of parameters on report

Note: All the parameters listed in the multiline are mandatory and hence one of the permitted values must be entered in the Value field.

To modify parameters

Category

Use the drop-down list box to select the category of parameters, you want to define. The list displays the following values: “Analysis Options”, “Component Analysis Options”, “Discrepancy Deferral Options”, “Flight Operation Options”, “Occurrence Type Options”, "Report Generation Option" and "Report Display Options".

The multiline displays the parameters defined under the specified category.

Value

The new value of the parameter.

To save

The system sets the Status field to “Defined”, when a valid value is specified for the parameter.

The system displays the following in the “Record Statistics” group box.

Last Modified by

The employee code of the person who most recently modified the parameters.

Last Modified Date

The date on which the employee most recently modified the parameters.

Page overview

The Set Options page helps you to define the parameters required for report generation.

Parameters are pre-classified under four categories such as, Analysis Options, Discrepancy Deferral Options, Occurrence Type options, Flight Operation Options and Report Generation Option. The system does not allow for changing the category of a parameter.

All the parameters in this activity are mandatory and hence you must specify any one of the permitted values for each one of them. Subsequently, you can modify the values of parameters if required. The system does not allow you to exit this page,  if you do not specify a value for any parameter.

The system begins reliability analysis from the date you specify for the “Initial Start Date for Reliability Analysis” field in this activity.

Impact of parameters on reports

Parameter Name

Permitted Values

Significance

Rate Calculation Factor for FH/FC

  • 0 for 100

  • 1 for 1000

Determines computation of the rate of,

  • Aircraft and fleet utilization

  •  Discrepancies

  •  Incidents

Rate Calculation Factor for No of Departures

  • 0 for 100

  • 1 for 1000

Determines computation of the rate  of,

  • Aircraft and fleet utilization

  • Discrepancies

  • Incidents

Analysis Period

  • 1 to 12 months

Determines the number of months for which the report provides information.

For example, if you have specified March, 2008 in “Generate Reliability Report” page and, the Period as “12” in the Set Options activity, the report will display information for the months beginning April, 2007 to March, 2008.

Basis for Rate computation of Delay

  • 0 for No. of Departures

  • 1 for FH/FC

Indicates whether the rate of delay is based on number of departures or FH/FC.

If the basis is the number of departures, the system computes the rate of delay using the value specified for the Rate Calculation Factor for No of Departures parameter.

If the basis is FH/FC, the Rate Calculation Factor for FH/FC is taken into consideration for delay rate computation.

Reliability Analysis Level:

  • 0 for Reliability Reporting group level

  • 1 for Reliability Fleet level

Indicates whether the report is generated at the Reliability report group level or the reliability fleet level, based on the value defined for this parameter.

Report Book Generation level

  • 0 for Reliability Reporting group level

  • 1 for Reliability Fleet level

Determines whether the reports are compiled into a report book at a reliability report group or a reliability fleet level, based on the value defined for this parameter.

Count of Top ATA# determiners of Delay

§        1 to 25

Determines whether the number of ATAs to be included in the reports. For example, if you set this parameter to 5, the system considers those five ATAs with the most discrepancies reported against them.

ATA Level for Alert Definition

§          0 for System ATA#

§          1 for Major System ATA#

§          2 for System ATA# & Major System ATA#

Determines whether the alert levels must be defined for a System ATA, Major System ATA or both levels in the Set Alert Level for Fleet page in the Setup Reliability Fleet activity.

Formula to calculate Technical Dispatch Reliability in Fleet Reliability Data Report

  • 1 for 100-((Total number of Technical Operational Interruptions/ Total number of Revenue Departures)*100)

  • 2 for 100*(FC - Technical Delays) / (FC + Technical Cancellations)

Determines the formula that the system must consider for computing Technical Dispatch Reliability in Fleet Reliability Data Report.

Deferral Type 'CDL' to be considered for ADD analysis

  • 0 for Not Required

  • 1 for Required

Determines inclusion of discrepancies with deferral type “CDL” for computation of discrepancy rate.

  •  0 for Not Required

  •  1 for Required

Determines inclusion of discrepancies with deferral type “DMI” for computation of discrepancy rate.
