Fleet Reliability Data Report

Generate Reliability Report-A summary of the activity

Prerequisites

This report helps to analyze the operational reliability of a reliability fleet.

Report input: You must select the month and year and, the reliability fleet for the report in the Generate Reliability Report page. For further information, see the “Generate Reliability Report” topic.

Report output: This report is an Excel sheet and consists of one work sheet.

Consolidated information for the entire fleet including fleet size, operating fleet size, flight hours, flight cycles, monthly utilization, operational interruptions, In-flight shutdowns and dispatch reliability rate is available for the month of the report.

Note: In the report, Flight Cycles in column names is substituted by Parameter Description of the Parameter Flying Hours mapped to Base Parameter FH in the Set Base Parameters activity of Aircraft.

Total Fleet Size

The total number of aircraft mapped to the reliability fleet.

Operating Fleet Size

The number of aircraft mapped to the reliability fleet with reported flight hours more than Zero hours.

Total Flight Hours

The sum of flight hours of all aircraft in the fleet for the month.

Total Flight Cycles

The sum of flight cycles of all aircraft in the fleet for the month.

Total Flight Cycles / Day

The ratio of Total Flight Cycles to the number of calendar days of the month.

Total Fleet Flight Hours/Day/Aircraft

Total Flight Hours / (Number of calendar days of the month * Total Fleet Size)

Operating Fleet Flight Hours/Day/Aircraft

Total Flight Hours / (Number of calendar days of the month * Operating Fleet Size)

Total Fleet Flight Cycles/Day/Aircraft

Total Flight Cycles / (Number of calendar days of the month * Total Fleet Size)

Operating Fleet Flight Cycles/Day/Aircraft

Total Flight Cycles / (Number of calendar days of the month * Operating Fleet Size)

Cycle Time (Flight Hours)

The ratio of Total Flight Hours to Total Flight Cycles.

Note: The Cycle Time column is shown or hidden depending on the value of the parameter “Display Cycle Time?” in the Set Options activity of Reliability Analysis.

See Set Options activity Help for more details.

Total Revenue Flight Hours

The sum of flight hours of all aircraft mapped to the fleet with the Fight Ops Type as “Regular”.

Total Revenue Departures

The sum of departures of all aircraft mapped to the fleet with the Fight Ops Type as “Regular”.

Aircraft Daily Utilization (Hours)

The ratio of Total Flight Hours of the reliability fleet to the number of In Service days of the reliability fleet for the month.

See In service days computation

Aircraft Daily Utilization (Cycles)

The ratio of Total Flight Cycles of the reliability fleet  to the number of In Service days  of the reliability fleet  for the month.

See In service days computation

Flight Cancellations for Technical Reasons

The number of flight cancellations of all aircraft attached to the flight,  as a result of technical reasons in the month.

Technical Cancellation Rate

(Per <100> Revenue take offs)

The ratio of Flight Cancellations due to Technical Reasons to Total Revenue Departures, which is equal to the following,

(Flight Cancellations for Technical Reasons / Total Revenue Departures) * 100

Total Delays > Reportable Delay for Technical Reasons

The total number of delays caused by technical reasons, reported against all aircraft attached to the fleet.

Technical Delay Rate

(Per <100> Revenue Take Offs)

The ratio of Total Delays > Reportable Delay for Technical Reasons to Total Revenue Departures, which is equal to the following,

(Total Delays > Reportable Delay for Technical Reasons / Total Revenue Departures) * 100

In Flight Shut Downs

The number of In Flight Shut Downs reported against all aircraft attached to the fleet.

Air Turn Backs / Flight Diversions

The number of air turn backs and diversions reported against all aircraft attached to the fleet.

Ground Turn Backs

The number of ground turn backs reported against all aircraft attached to the fleet.

Technical Dispatch Reliability

The ratio of total number of flight interruptions to the Total Revenue Departures.

See Technical Dispatch reliability computation

The above-mentioned information is available for,

Twelve Months Average

The running average for the past 12 months.

For example, the 12 month running average for February 2008 will include the data recorded for the months starting March 2007 to February 2008.

Three Months Average

The running average for the past three months.

For example, the three month running average for February 2008 will include the data recorded for the months starting December 2007 to February 2008.

Technical Dispatch reliability computation

This report takes into account Operational interruptions, such as Delays, Cancellations, Substitutions, Ground Turn backs, Air Turn Backs and Diversions with the Delay Category specified as “Technical & A/C equipment”. The Flight Status recorded in the journey log indicates the kind of interruption faced by the aircraft during the flight.

The technical dispatch reliability is computed in the following way,

(Total number of operational interruptions due to technical reasons / Total Revenue departures) * 100

In service days computation

In service days refer to the number of unique days on which journey logs are created for an aircraft with “Flight Ops. Type” as  “Regular”. Multiple journey logs created for an aircraft on the same day will be considered as a single In service day.

The Fleet Operational Statistics report shows the number of In service days for an active aircraft for each month in the specified period as well as sum of In service days for all the active aircraft in the fleet.
