Engine Removals and Shop Visits Report

Generate Reliability Report-A summary of the activity

Prerequisites

This report displays information on removals and shop visits of engines pertaining to all aircraft in the reliability fleet.

Report input: You must select the month and year and, the reliability fleet for the report in the Generate Reliability Report page. For further information, see the “Generate Reliability Report” topic.

Report output: This report is an Excel sheet and consists of one work sheet: Engine Removals and Shop Visits report.

See Engine shop visits computation

The consolidated information for all aircraft in the fleet is available month-wise as given below. (The months for which information is displayed is based on the Analysis Period attribute in the Set Options activity. For example, the March 2008 report with the Analysis Period set to ‘12’ would show data beginning April, 2007 to March, 2008).

Monthly Number of Engine Removals (Scheduled and Unscheduled)

The sum total of engine removals, both scheduled and unscheduled pertaining to all aircraft in the fleet.

Monthly Number of Unscheduled Removals

The sum total of unscheduled engine removals pertaining to all aircraft in the fleet.

Monthly Engine Removal Rate

The ratio of Monthly Number of Engine Removals (Scheduled and Unscheduled) to Total Engine Hours of the fleet.

(Monthly Number of Engine Removals (Scheduled and Unscheduled ) / Total Engine Hours of the fleet )* FH /FC Rate

Monthly Unscheduled Engine Removal Rate

(Monthly Number of Unscheduled Removals of the fleet / Total Engine Hours of the fleet) * FH / FC Rate.

12 Months Running Engine Removal Rate

The average of the monthly engine removal rate of the previous12 months.

For example, the 12 month running average for February 2008 will include the engine removal rates (both scheduled and unscheduled) recorded for the months starting March 2007 to February 2008.

12 Months Running Unscheduled Engine Removal Rate

The average of the monthly unscheduled engine removal rate of the previous12 months.

For example, the 12 month running average for February 2008 will include the unscheduled engine removal rates recorded for the months starting March 2007 to February 2008.

Monthly Number of Engine Shop Visits (Planned and Unplanned)

The total count of shop visits of engines both, planned and unplanned, pertaining to all aircraft in the fleet.

Monthly Number of Unplanned Engine Shop Visits

The total count of unplanned shop visits of engines pertaining to all aircraft in the fleet.

Monthly Engine Shop Visit Rate

(Monthly Number of Engine Shop Visits (Planned and Unplanned) / Total Engine Hours of the fleet )* FH or FC Rate.

Monthly Unplanned Engine Shop Visit Rate

(Monthly Number of Unplanned Engine Shop Visits / Total Engine Hours of the fleet )* FH / FC Rate.

12 Months Running Engine Shop Visit Rate

The average of the monthly engine shop visit rates of the previous12 months.

For example, the 12 month running average for February 2008 will include the shop visits  recorded for the months starting March 2007 to February 2008.

12 Months Running Unplanned Engine Shop Visit Rate

The average of the monthly unplanned engine shop visit rate of the previous12 months.

For example, the 12 month running average for February 2008 will include the unplanned engine shop visit rates recorded for the months starting March 2007 to February 2008.

Engine removal rate graph helps to analyze the scheduled and unscheduled engine removal rates for a fleet. Consolidated information for all aircraft in the fleet is depicted for each month of the specified period.

Engine shop visits computation

The report shows the consolidated number of shop visits by all engines associated with every aircraft in the fleet for every month of the specified period. The component work orders and repair orders created for an engine determine the number of shop visits.

The system checks for the following conditions when generating the count of shop visits,

Note: A repair order may pertain to multiple components. However, for each component, the repair order is counted as a shop visit.

To arrive at the monthly number of engine shop visits, the system sums up the number of component work orders and repair orders for engine components of every active aircraft in the fleet, which satisfy the above-mentioned conditions. This count includes planned as well as unplanned shop visits.
