Deferrals & Operational Interruptions Analysis Report

Generate Reliability Report-A summary of the activity

Prerequisites

This report displays the information on the discrepancy deferrals and the operational interruptions due to technical reasons, reported against a reliability fleet.

The month-wise count of deferrals of deferral types MEL and Acceptable Deferred Defects (ADD), technical delays, technical cancellations and technical substitutions recorded against each aircraft of a reliability fleet is available in the report.

The months for which information is displayed is based on the Analysis Period attribute in the Set Options activity. For example, the March 2008 report with the Analysis Period set to ‘12’ would show data beginning April, 2007 to March, 2008.

Report input: You must select the month and year and, the reliability fleet for the report in the Generate Reliability Report page. For further information, see the “Generate Reliability Report” topic.

Report output: This report is an Excel sheet and consists of two work sheets:

Deferrals and Operational Interruptions report

This worksheet displays the breakup of the following information for the month-wise basis for all aircraft in the reliability fleet. The months for which information is represented in the graph. This is based on the “Analysis Period “ defined in the Set Options activity. For example, the March 2008 report with the Analysis Period set to “12” would show data beginning April, 2007 to March, 2008.

Monthly Average daily open Acceptable Deferred Defects

The average count of open Acceptable Deferred Defects pertinent to aircraft of the reliability fleet for the month of the report. The  Acceptable Deferred Defects of the Deferral Type selected in the Set Options activity.

MEL

The average count of open Acceptable Deferred Defects of Deferral Type “MEL” pertinent to aircraft of the reliability fleet, for the month.

Six months running Average of daily open ADDs

The six months running average of open Acceptable Deferred Defects of Deferral Type “MEL” for six months preceding and including the month.

Monthly Total Number of Cancellations for Technical Reasons

The count of cancellations of aircraft classified under the Delay Category “Technical & A/C Equipment”,  for the month.

Monthly Total Number of Aircraft Substitutions for Technical Reasons

The count of substitutions of aircraft classified under the Delay Category “Technical & A/C Equipment”,  for the month.

Monthly Total Number of Technical Delays

The count of cancellations of aircraft classified under the Delay Category “Technical & A/C Equipment”,   for the month of the report.

Monthly Rate of Technical Delays

The rate of technical delays for the month.

Six months Running Average of the monthly Rate of Technical Delays

The six months running average of technical delays for the month.

Six Months Running Average of the Monthly Average of daily open MELs

The six months running average of open MELs, including the current month, for all aircrafts in the reliability fleet.

Average number of daily Open ADD

This graph depicts the month-wise count and the six months running average of daily open ADD for all the aircraft in the reliability fleet.

Note: Only the Deferral Types (CDL, DMI and Others) flagged as ‘Required’ for reliability analysis in the ‘Set Options’ activity are considered for reporting of ADD.

Y-Axis

§   ADD:

The count of ADD reported per day per aircraft in the reliability fleet. This value is derived using the formula,

(Count of ADD for aircraft in the fleet) / ((Count of aircraft in the fleet) * Count of Service days))

§         Six months running average of ADD

Six month running average of Open ADD at the end of the month, including the reported month.

Count of aircraft in the fleet: This is the number of aircraft mapped to the reliability fleet at the end of the reported month.

Note: The status of the aircraft and  the reliability fleet must be ”Active”.

Count of Service days: This is the sum of unique service days for each aircraft in the reliability fleet. (‘Service Days’ of an aircraft is the unique count of days on which journey logs are raised with the ‘Flight Ops. Type’ attribute as ‘Regular’. If on a day, more than one journey log are available for an aircraft, with the ‘Flight Ops. Type’ attribute as ‘Regular’, then the count would be taken as “1”).

§           MEL:

The count of MEL’s reported per day per aircraft in the reliability fleet. This value is derived using the formula,

§          Six months running average of MEL

Six month running average of MEL at the end of the month, including the reported month.

§    Month-wise rate of Technical Cancellations for the reliability fleet.

§       Month-wise rate of Technical Substitutions for the reliability fleet.

Note: The rate calculation factor would depend on the value specified for the Rate Calculation Factor for “FH/FC” attribute in the Set Options activity.

Rate of technical cancellations is computed using the following formula,

(Number of technical cancellations per month for the fleet / Total number of FH per month for the Fleet) * 1000 or 100 FC

Rate of technical substitutions is computed using the following formula,

(Number of technical substitutions per month for the fleet / Total number of FH per month for the Fleet) * 1000 or 100 FC

Technical cancellation count: This is equal to the number of journey log legs for all the aircraft in the reliability fleet that satisfy the following

Note: If the Delay Limit is not specified in the Setup Reliability Fleet activity, regardless of the delay duration it would be considered as ‘Delayed’.

Technical substitution count: This is equal to the number of journey log legs for all the aircraft in the reliability fleet that satisfy the following
