Basics of using a typical web page

You can view the forecasted events in this page.

The “View Forecasted Events” page appears.

The system displays the following field:

Date Format

The format in which the date fields are displayed in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the "Enterprise Modeling" business component by default.

The system displays the following fields in the “Forecast Details” group box:

Identifier #

The aircraft registration number / aircraft model number / sub fleet number.

Identifier Type

The type of the identifier, which could be “Aircraft”, “Model” or “Sub Fleet”.

Model #

The number identifying the aircraft model.

The model number will be displayed, only if the identifier type is “Aircraft”.

Forecast Horizon

The total time period for which the forecast was performed.

Start Date

The start date of the forecast.

End Date

The end date of the forecast.

Work Center #

Use the drop-down list box to select the work center where the work unit must be performed. The system lists all the work centers defined for the login organization unit.

Job Type

Use the drop-down list box to specify job type of the work unit. The system provides the following options:

  • On Wing – Select this option to retrieve both the aircraft and component related work units.

  • Off Wing – Select this option to retrieve the component related work units.

  • Aircraft – Select this option to retrieve the aircraft related work units.

  • Component Removal – Select this option to retrieve work units performed for component removal.

The system leaves the field blank by default.

Part #

The number identifying the part for which you wish to view the forecasted work unit details (Alphanumeric, 40). Mandatory, if the identifier is “All Aircrafts”.

Only Component Jobs

Use the drop-down list box and set the field to “Yes”, if you wish to retrieve only component related work units. Select “No” otherwise.

The system and displays “No” by default.

ATA #

Use the drop-down list box to select the ATA chapter number associated with the work unit. The system list all the "Active" ATA chapters defined in the "Create ATA Chapter" activity of the “Aircraft” business component.

Component Hierarchy

Use the drop-down list box to specify whether you wish to view the component related work unit count at the parent component level, or for the parent and child components individually. The system provides the following options:

Display – Select this option, if you wish to view the work unit count for the parent and child components individually. 

Suppress – Select this option, if you wish to view the work unit count at the parent component level.

For example, if a component C1 has child components C2 and C3 attached to it, each of them associated with 5 work units, then the count would be displayed as C1 - 5; C2 - 5 and C3- 5, if the “Display” option is selected. The count will be displayed as C1- 15, if the “Suppress” option is selected.

The system displays “Suppress” by default.

Forecast Duration

Use the drop-down list box to specify the duration for which you wish to view the forecasted events. The system lists the options 1 to 12, and displays 12 by default.

Forecast Period

Use the drop-down list box to specify the period for which you wish to view the forecasted events. The system lists the options “Months” and “Years”, and displays “Months” by default.

The system displays the following in the “Forecasted Event Count” multiline:

Part #

The number identifying the part on which the work unit is executed.

Note: The system leaves this field blank for aircraft related work units.

Part Description

The textual description of the part on which the work unit is executed.

Note: The system displays “AIR FRAME” for aircraft related work units.

Work Unit #

The number identifying the work unit.

Work Unit Description

The textual description of the work unit.

The number of work units executed in the specified time period.

The work unit count will be displayed for each month, if the forecast period is set as “Months”.

The work unit count will be displayed for each year, if the forecast period is set as “Years”.

Note: The value in column “1” corresponds to the value for the first month/year from the start date of the forecast.

The system displays the following in the “Forecasted Event Count” multiline:

Work Center #

The number identifying the work center where the work units are executed.

The system displays the following:

Currency

The base currency of the login organization unit, retrieved from the "Enterprise Set Up" business component.

The system displays the following in the “Summary Details” multiline:

Summary

The type of the costs and the resources, identified as a result of forecasting. The system displays the following summary titles in the order specified.

  • Total Event Count

Total Event Count will be equal to the total number of work units that have been forecasted for the selected identifier.

  • Total Event Cost

Total Event Cost = Cost incurred on all the forecasted work units * Number of forecasted work units

  • Total Man Hrs

Total Man Hrs will be equal to the sum of the total hours reported for resource of type “Skill” for each forecasted work unit.

Note: For scheduled work units of type task or standard procedure, the resource hours will be retrieved from the “Maintenance Task” business component. For scheduled work units of type work package, the resource hours will be retrieved from the “Aircraft Maintenance Program” or “Component Maintenance Program” business component. The resource hours will be retrieved from the unscheduled work orders and/or from “Flight log” business component, for unscheduled work units.

  • Total Material Cost

Total Material Cost = Material Cost incurred on scheduled work units + Material Cost incurred on unscheduled work units.

Material Cost will be equal to the cost incurred on the scheduled work units, if the “Historical Period For Unscheduled Cost Calculation” is not specified in the “Set Options” activity.

  • Man Hours/FH

Man Hours/FH is computed as the ratio between the Total Man. Hrs and the Total Flight Hours over the forecasted period.

Example: If the ‘Estimated Man Hrs’ is reported as 4 hours for a Task T1 and the average flight hours per day is 5, then the ‘Man Hrs./FH’ for the Task T1 that has been executed 1100 times in a forecast duration of 12 years, will be computed as:[(1100*4)  / (5*365*12)] = 0.22

  • Maintenance Cost/FH

Maintenance Cost/FH is computed as the ratio between the Total Maintenance Cost (Total Maintenance Cost = Total Material Cost + Total Resource Cost) and the Total Average Flight Hours over the forecasted period.

Example: If the Total Maintenance Cost for a forecast duration of 12 years is 1,85,000$ and the Average Flight Hours (FH) per day is 5, then the Maintenance Cost/FH will be computed as:

[1,85,000$ / (5*365*12)].  

Note: The system retrieves the flight hours from the “Flight Log” business component.

Total For 12 Periods

The total value of the costs and the resources for 12 months / years.

The value of the costs and the resources associated with the work units executed for each month / year.

The value will be displayed for each month, if the forecast period is set as “Months”.

The value will be displayed for each year, if the forecast period is set as “Years”.

Note: The value in column “1” corresponds to the value for the first month/year from the start date of the forecast.

To proceed, carry out the following

The system displays the following in the “Record Statistics” group box:

Created By

The login ID of the user who created the forecast.

Created Date

The date on which the forecast was created.
