Issuing certificate of maintenance for Execution Ref #
This page enables you to issue a Certificate of Maintenance (CoM) for a Execution Ref #. You can also modify, authorize or cancel the details of the CoM that already exists for the Execution Ref #. Tell me more.

The “Issue Certificate of Maintenance” page appears.
The system displays the following field:
Date & Time Format |
The format in which the date and time fields are displayed. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user id. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date and time format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default. |
The system displays the following in the “CoM Details” group box:
CoM # |
The number identifying the certificate of the maintenance. This number is automatically generated by the system at the time of creating the CoM, based on the numbering type selected in this page. If a CoM in "Fresh" status has already been issued for the Execution Ref # selected in the previous page, the system displays the CoM # in this field. |
Note: If a CoM in "Fresh" status has been issued for the selected Execution Ref #, the system displays the details of the CoM in this page.
Enter the following fields in the “CoM Details” group box:
Numbering Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the numbering type for generating the CoM number. The system lists all the active numbering types defined for the “Flight Sheet” transaction in the “Create Numbering Class“ activity of the “Document Numbering Class” business component. |
CoM Type |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the type of the CoM Mandatory. The system lists the following options:
The system displays the CoM type of the CoM # by default, if available. |
The system displays the following field:
CoM Status |
The status of the CoM, which could be “Fresh”, “Confirmed” or “Cancelled”. |
Enter the following field:
User Status |
Use the drop-down list box to assign a user-defined status for the CoM. The system lists all the active quick codes of type “CoM Transaction” defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity. |
The system displays the following fields in the “Execution Ref # Details” group box:
Execution Ref # # |
The number identifying the Execution Ref # for which the CoM is to be created/modified/confirmed/cancelled. |
Journey Log # |
The number identifying the journey log for which the Execution Ref # is created. |
Tech. Log Category |
The category to which the Execution Ref # belongs. |
Execution Ref # Status |
The status of the Execution Ref #, which could be "In-Progress”, “Completed” or “Closed”” |
Execution Station |
The station where the Execution Ref # is executed. |
Package Description |
The short name/description of the package. |
The system displays the following fields in the “Aircraft Details” group box:
Aircraft Reg # |
The aircraft registration number for which the Execution Ref # is applicable. |
Aircraft Model # |
The model to which the aircraft belongs. |
Configuration Class |
The configuration class associated to the aircraft model number. |
The system displays the following fields in the “Last CoM Details” group box, if a CoM has been issued for the aircraft registration number displayed in the “Aircraft Details” group box:
CoM # |
The number identifying the CoM last issued for the aircraft. |
CoM Type |
The type of the CoM, which could be “Regular”, “Test Flight” or "Forced". This field will be blank, if the reference document type is Execution Ref #. |
Ref. Document Type |
The type of the reference document, which could be visit package or Execution Ref #, for which the CoM was issued. |
Ref. Document # |
The number identifying the reference document. |
Issued by |
The code of the employee who is the key person for the last issued CoM. |
License # |
The license number of the person who issued the CoM. |
Issued Date |
The date on which the last CoM was issued. |
Enter the following fields in the “Employee Details” multiline:
Note: If the CoM # does not exist, the system will display the login user ID as the “Employee #”, primary skill of the login user as the “Skill Code”, and the license first issued to the login user as the “License #”.
Skill Code |
The code identifying the primary skill of the employee (Alphanumeric, 10). Mandatory. Ensure that the skill code is active as defined in the “Employee Information” business component. |
Employee # |
The code identifying the employee who signed the task or subtask that is performed as part of the Execution Ref # (Alphanumeric, 20). Mandatory. Ensure that the employee code is active as defined in the “Employee Information” business component. Help facility available. |
Note: The system ensures that the “Skill Code” – “Employee #” combination is defined in the “Employee Information” business component.
Note: The “Skill Code” – “Employee #” combination must be unique in the multiline.
Note: If a “CoM #” exists, then the skill code and employee code that have already been mapped to the CoM cannot be modified.

Enter the following fields in the “Employee Details” multiline:
License # |
The license number of the employee (Alphanumeric, 15). The license # is mandatory for CoM Types “Regular” and “Test Flight” and not mandatory for “Forced” CoMs. The license # is also mandatory if you have specified the Employee # and the Primary Skill #. However, you may not specify the license #, if the CoM Type is “Forced”. Ensure that the license number,

Enter the following fields in the “Key Person Details” group box:
Employee # |
The code identifying the key person who is creating / modifying / authorizing / canceling the CoM for the selected Execution Ref # (Alphanumeric, 20). Note that the employee # of the person who authorizes the CoM must not be the same as that of the person who has created/edited it. Help facility available. |
Name |
The name of the key person. |
Primary Skill # |
The code identifying the primary skill of the employee (Alphanumeric, 10). Ensure that the skill code is active as defined in the “Employee Information” business component. |
Note: The system ensures that the “Primary Skill #” – “Employee #” combination is defined in the “Employee Information” business component.
License # |
The license number of the employee (Alphanumeric, 25). The license # is mandatory for CoM Types “Regular” and “Test Flight” and not mandatory for “Forced” CoMs. The license # is also mandatory if you have specified the Employee # and the Primary Skill #. However, you may not specify the license #, if the CoM Type is “Forced”. Ensure that the license number,

Date & Time |
The date and time, in the specified format, pertaining to the creation / modification / authorization / cancellation of the CoM. Mandatory. This date must be later than the creation date of the Execution Ref # for which the CoM is issued. |

Any other comments pertaining to the certificate of maintenance (Alphanumeric, 2000). This field is mandatory, if the COM Type is “Forced”. |
To create/modify the certificate of maintenance
Click the “Create / Edit CoM” pushbutton to create or modify the CoM details.
The status of the Execution Ref # becomes “Fresh”.
Process Parameter dependency: If the process parameter” under the entity type Package Type and the entity “All user defined package types including Log card” is set as 0 for ‘No’, the CoM for the aircraft package is automatically generated in the Authorized status. However, if the process parameter is set as 1 for ‘Yes’, the status of the CoM for the Execution Ref # becomes “Fresh” on creation.
To authorize the CoM
Click the “Authorize CoM” pushbutton to confirm the CoM details.
The system allows authorization of COM only if the following conditions are true:
The Employee # entered in the “Key Person Details” group box has a valid license which is in “active” status and mapped to Aircraft Model# in Aircraft Details Section
The skill of the given employee # as defined in the HRMS business component is the primary skill of the employee.
The system updates the status of the CoM as “Confirmed”.
On authorization of CoM, the system sets the condition of the aircraft to “Operational”, if
The “Aircraft Condition Change” attribute is set to “Required’ for the package type of the Execution Ref # in the Common Masters component.
No other Execution Ref # exists for the aircraft in “In-Progress” status that requires update of the aircraft condition based on the “Aircraft Condition Change” attribute. (Note that if the “Aircraft Condition Change” attribute is set to “Not Required” in the Common Masters component, the aircraft condition is not automatically reset to “Operational” by the system on authorization of the CoM.)
No other Execution Ref # exists for the aircraft in “Completed” status for which CoM is required and not yet been issued.
Allowing the same employee to create as well as authorize CoM
An employee can both create and authorize CoM based on the value set for the process parameter “Allow same user to create and authorize CoM for aircraft?” defined under the entity type Package Type and the entity All Packages in the Define Process Entities activity of Common Master. Prerequisites for creating/editing/authorizing CoM for aircraft
To cancel the CoM
Click the “Cancel CoM” pushbutton to cancel the CoM details.
The system updates the status of the CoM, as “Cancelled”.
Creating/Modifying/Authorizing/Canceling CoM using Electronic Signature
On clicking the “Create/Edit CoM” or the “Authorize CoM” or the “Cancel CoM” pushbutton, the “User Authentication Web Dialog” screen appears.
Insert the smart card into the smart card reader and enter your Personal Identification Number in the “User PIN” field.
Follow the instructions listed under the topic “Signing-off using Electronic Signature”.
The system displays the following in the “Record Statistics” group box:

Issuing certificate of maintenance for Execution Ref # - An overview
This page enables you to create a CoM of type “Regular” or “Test Flight” for a selected Execution Ref #. The system automatically generates a CoM number. You can also modify the details of the CoM existing in “Fresh” status, in this page.
This page also enables you to authorize the CoM in “Fresh” status. On authorization, the CoM can be printed, by selecting the “Print CoM” link. You can also cancel the CoM before authorization, in this page.
The system updates the CoM details with the name of the employee who created / modified / cancelled / authorized the CoM, along with the date.
Specify the numbering type for CoM
Specify the numbering type for CoM
You can specify the numbering type, based on which the system generates a unique number for each CoM.
Use the “Numbering Type” drop-down list box, to specify the appropriate numbering type for the CoM.
You can specify the type of the certificate of maintenance that is issued for a Execution Ref #.
Set the "Regular" option in the “CoM Type” field, if the CoM is to be issued to indicate that the aircraft is ready for normal flight operations.
Set the "Test Flight" option in the “CoM Type” field, if the CoM is to be issued for test drive of the aircraft.
