Associating organizational units to a company
This page deals with associating organizational units to a company. Tell me more.
Select the “Assign Organization Units” link at the bottom of the “Maintain Company Information” page.
The “Assign Organization Units” page appears.
The system displays the following fields in the “Company Identity” group box:
Company Code |
The code of the company to which the organizational units must be associated. |
Company Name |
The name of the company. Zoom facility available |
The system displays the details of the organizational units that are already associated to the company in the multiline.
Enter the following fields in the “Org Unit Details” multiline:
Org Unit # |
The number identifying the organizational unit that must be associated to the company (Alphanumeric, 32). Mandatory. Ensure that the organizational unit is already defined in the system. Also, the organizational unit should not have been associated to any other company. |
The system displays the following field:
Org Unit Name |
The name of the organizational unit. |
Enter the following fields:
Station Name |
Use the drop-down list box to select the station to which the organizational unit belongs. The system lists all the stations defined in the “Create Station” activity of the “Common Master” business component. Ensure that the station is unique in the multiline. Ensure that the station is associated to only one work center organizational unit, when the “Enterprise Setup” business component interacts with “Maintenance Utilities Editor” (UTL) sub-module. |
Address |
The address or physical location of the station (Alphanumeric, 255). Mandatory. |
Note: If you have left the above field blank, the system sets this field to the address of the company by default.
City |
The city where the station is located (Alphanumeric, 32). |
State |
The state where the station is located (Alphanumeric, 32). |
Country |
The country where the station is located (Alphanumeric, 40). |
Zip Code |
The zip code of the physical location of the station (Alphanumeric, 15). |
Phone # |
The contact telephone number of the station (Alphanumeric, 30). |
Fax # |
The contact fax number of the station (Alphanumeric, 30). |
Telex |
The contact telex number of the station (Alphanumeric, 30). |
The “Copy” facility provided below helps you to copy the address details of an organizational unit to the organizational units listed in the multiline. You can make use of this facility if two or more organizational units have the same station associated to them.
Enter the following field in the “Copy Address From” group box:
Org Unit # |
The number identifying the organizational unit from which you wish to copy the address details (Alphanumeric, 32). Ensure that this organizational unit is already defined and associated to the company. On clicking the “Assign Organization Unit Details” pushbutton, the system copies the address details of the organizational unit entered here to the organizational units listed in the multiline. Help facility available. |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark the organizational unit for deletion.
Click the Delete icon in the tool bar above the multiline, to delete the organizational unit selected in the multiline.
Click the “Assign Organization Unit Details” pushbutton to assign the organizational units to the company.
If the Station – Organizational Unit association is defined for the first time, then the system updates the Station – Org Unit association details in the “Common Master” business component.
Associating organizational units to a company – An overview
An organizational unit is a distinct organizational entity where a function or a set of related business functions are executed. A company can have one or more organizational units attached to it. Warehouses, goods receipt and inspection department, engineering cell etc. are examples of organizational units.
The following organizational unit details can be entered in this page and associated to the company:
The code identifying the organizational unit
The name of the station to which the organizational unit is associated
The address details of the organizational unit
The contact telephone number, fax and telex numbers of the station.
Copy address details
This page also provides you the facility of copying the address details of an existing organizational unit to the organizational units listed in the multiline.
