The “Manage Offline Operations" page appears.

The system displays the following:

Date & Time Format

The format in which the date and time fields are displayed. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user id. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the "Enterprise Modeling" business component by default.

Offline Area #

Use the drop-down list box and select the offline area for which you wish to initiate offline field operations. Mandatory. The system lists the values as follows:

  • If the Usage Mode is "Online", all the ‘Active’ offline areas are listed in alphabetic order.

  • If Usage Mode is “Offline, only the applicable offline area is listed.

The system displays the following:

Offline Area Description

The textual description of the offline area.

Operational Status

The operational status of the offline area. The system displays one of the following values:

  • Operational - Indicates that the offline area is under operation.

  • Initiated - Indicates that the field operations are initiated in the offline area.

  • Initiated-Pending - Indicates that the field operations are pending to be initiated in the offline area.

  • Terminated - Indicates that the aircraft / work center functions are stopped from operation after the field operations are complete.

  • Force Terminated - Indicates that the field operations are force terminated due to unavoidable situations like aircraft crash.

Field Ops From / To

The date from which the offline field operations are operational. The date on which the offline field operations are terminated is displayed alongside.

Assignment Type

Indicates whether ‘Aircraft’ or ‘Work Center’ is assigned to the selected offline area.

Usage Mode

The usage mode which indicates whether the offline operations are carried out from main base or offline field base. The following values are displayed based on the option setting in the “Configure Offline Parameters” activity of the current business component.

  • Online: Main Base

  • Offline: Offline Area #

Aircraft Operations

A/C Reg #

The code identifying the registration of the aircraft assigned to the offline area. (Alphanumeric, 30). You must enter the aircraft registration number which satisfies the following conditions:

  • Must be in ‘Active’ status.

  • Ownership of the Aircraft Reg # must be “Owned”.

  • Must not be associated to any other ‘Active’ offline area.

  • Must not be duplicated in the multiline.

Data entry is mandatory, if the Assignment Type for the Offline Area is “Aircraft”. You can enter the aircraft registration number even if the Assignment Type is “Work Center”.

Addition or modification of Aircraft Reg # in the multiline is not allowed, if the Usage Mode is “Offline”.

Area Description

The textual description of the offline area. (Alphanumeric, 255). Mandatory.

The system displays the following fields:

Rel. / Ret. Date

The date on which the aircraft is released / returned.

Rel. / Ret. Allowed?

Indicates whether the aircraft can be released or returned.

The system displays “Yes” if:

  • If the evaluation is successful for the process of release or initiate field operations and no impacted validations / transactions exist (Main Base).

  • If the evaluation is successful for the process of return and no impacted validations / transactions exist (Offline Base).

The system displays “No” if:

  • If the evaluation is successful for the process of release or initiate field operations and impacted validations / transactions exist (Main Base).

  • If the evaluation is successful for the process of return and impacted validations / transactions exist (Offline Base).

Move. Status

The status of the aircraft, which could be one of the following:

  • Evaluated-Release - Indicates that the evaluation is successful for release of the aircraft.

  • Released - Indicates that the aircraft is released.

  • Evaluated-Return - Indicates that the evaluation is successful for return of the aircraft.

  • Returned - Indicates that the aircraft is returned.

Remarks

Any additional remarks related to the association of aircraft to the offline area. (Alphanumeric, 2000). You must not enter any remarks, if Aircraft Reg # is not available in the multiline.

The system displays the following fields:

Request #

The request number of data package, generated on initializing offline area or subsequent release / return of aircraft.

Click the hyperlinked Request number to view the data transfer history.

Updated by / Date

The user name / date and time of Release / Return / Termination / Force Termination / Evaluation process.

Work Center details

Work Center #

Use the drop-down list box and select the work center assigned to the offline area. The system lists the ‘Active’ work centers of Work Center Class “Execution” and whose ‘Work Center Capability’ is “All”, “Line Jobs” and “Hangar Jobs”, in alphabetical order.

  • For Usage Mode “Online”, all the ‘Active’ work centers satisfying the above conditions are listed.

  • For Usage Mode “Offline”, the system lists only the ‘Active’ work centers  mapped to the ‘Offline Area #’ defined under the category ‘Offline Configurator Options’.

The work center entered must not be associated to any other ‘Active’ offline area and must not be duplicated in the multiline. You can modify the work center only from the main base.

Addition or modification of Work Center # in the multiline is not allowed, if the Usage Mode is “Offline”.

By default, the system leaves the field blank. If this page is invoked by selecting a record in the multiline of the “Manage Offline Area” page, the system defaults the work centers associated to the Offline Area selected in the respective record.

The system displays the following fields:

Rel. / Ret. Date

The date on which the work center is released / returned.

Rel. / Ret. Allowed?

Indicates whether the work center can be released or returned.

The system displays “Yes” if:

  • If the evaluation is successful for the process of release or initiate field operations and no impacted validations / transactions exist (Main Base).

  • If the evaluation is successful for the process of return and no impacted validations / transactions exist (Offline Base).

The system displays “No” if:

  • If the evaluation is successful for the process of release or initiate field operations and impacted validations / transactions exist (Main Base).

  • If the evaluation is successful for the process of return and impacted validations / transactions exist (Offline Base).

Move. Status

The status of the work center, which could be one of the following:

  • Evaluated-Release - Indicates that the evaluation is successful for release of the work center.

  • Released - Indicates that the work center is released.

  • Evaluated-Return - Indicates that the evaluation is successful for return of the work center.

  • Returned - Indicates that the work center is returned.

Remarks

Any additional remarks related to the association of work center to the offline area. (Alphanumeric, 2000). You must not enter any remarks, if Work Center  # is not available in the multiline.

The system displays the following fields:

Request #

The request number of data package, generated on initializing offline area or subsequent release / return of work center.

Click the hyperlinked Request number to view the data transfer history.

Updated by / Date

The user name / date and time of Release / Return / Termination / Force Termination / Evaluation process.

Note: The system displays an error message, if there is any concurrent usage on the same offline area in the main base.

Ensure that at least one record is selected in the multiline.

Note: For the Offline Area # selected, this pushbutton is disabled in the main base, if the Operational Status of the Offline Area is “Initiated".

The 'Move. Status' of the aircraft / work center is changed as a result of evaluation, as shown in the table below:

Part Controlled Data Change

Prior to evaluating/releasing/initiating field operations, you must process all open Part Controlled Data Change transactions involving part control type change, if the "Part Control Type change to Serial / Serial-Lot" process parameter under the category Part Data Change in the Set Inventory Process Parameters activity is set as "0" (Not Allowed).

Note: For the Offline Area # selected, this pushbutton is enabled in the main base only if the Operational Status of the Offline Area is “Operational. However this button is disabled always in the offline base (i.e. Usage Mode: Offline).

  1. The Mode of Usage for warehouses belonging to the work center that has been released for offline operations is set as “Offline”.

  2. The system deletes mapping of those transactions not allowed during offline field operations from warehouses that have become offline now. This implies only those transactions that are allowed for offline usage will remain mapped to such warehouses.

Note: This button is displayed only in the offline base and always disabled in the main base.

  1. The Mode of Usage for warehouses belonging to the work center that has returned to the main base is set as “Online”.

  2. Mapping of transactions to these warehouses is restored as per the definition in the Storage Administration component.

Note: This icon is displayed only if impacted transactions or validations exist for the Offline Area.

Terminate / Force Terminate Actions

Once all the aircraft(s) and workcenter(s) associated to offline area is returned, user can  terminate the offline area from main base. You can terminate the operations of the entire offline area of aircraft / work center forcedly, when required. Force termination is done only in main base (i.e. Usage Mode: Online). You can perform the following steps to carry out force termination.

Check this box if you wish to forcefully terminate the operations of the offline area or aircraft / work center forcedly.

Any additional comments related to force termination. (Alphanumeric, 2000). Mandatory.

Note: For the Offline Area # selected, this pushbutton is disabled in the main base if the Operational Status of the Offline Area is Blank / “Terminated’ / “Force Terminated."

Note: The “Initiate Field Operations” and the “Terminate Actions” sections are disabled in the offline base.
