Basics of using a typical web page

Using Online Help

This page allows you to generate the fleet campaign directive (FCD) for the change request selected in the previous page. Tell me more.

The “Create Request Based Fleet Campaign Directive” page appears.

The system displays the following field:

Date Format

The format in which the date fields appear in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default.

Note: On launching the page, the system displays the subject, ATA, priority, background, reason, estimated elapsed time, estimated man hours and applicability (if any), from the “Maintenance Change Request” business component for the MCR selected in the "Select Change Request" page.

FCD #

A unique number identifying the fleet campaign directive (Alphanumeric, 16). This can be a combination of characters and digits.

  • Data entry in this field is mandatory, if “FCD Numbering” is set as “Manual” in the “Set Options” activity. The number should be unique within the “engineering document” business component.

This number is generated by the system, if “FCD Numbering” is set as “System Generated” in the “Set Options” activity. The FCD number is generated based on the numbering type selected.

Numbering Type

Use the drop-down list box to select the numbering type for FCD if you have opted manual numbering. The system lists all the values defined in the “Create Numbering Class” activity of the “Document Numbering Class” business component for the “Fleet Campaign Directive” transaction.

FCD Category

Use the drop-down list to select the category to which the FCD belongs. The system lists all the active quick codes that are of type “FCD Category” as defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity.

If you do not wish to specify the category, you can leave this field blank.

User Status

Use the drop-down list box to select the user-defined status of the FCD. The system lists all the active quick codes that are of type “FCD User Status” as defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity.

If you do not wish to specify the user status, you can leave this field blank.

Subject

The textual description of the FCD (Alphanumeric, 255). Mandatory.

ATA #

The  ATA chapter on which the FCD must be executed (Alphanumeric, 16). The ATA chapter number should be in “Active” status in the “Aircraft” business component..

Applicability

Use the drop-down list box to specify whether the FCD is applicable for “Aircraft”, “Engine” or “Component”. By default this field is set to “Aircraft”.

Note: The applicability of the change request from which the FCD is created and the applicability of the currently created FCD must be same.

Priority

Use the drop-down list box to assign the priority for the FCD. This indicates the level of urgency. For example, in a set of priority descriptions "Critical", "High", "Medium" and "Low", the priority description "Critical" will be treated as of highest priority. The system lists all the priority descriptions defined in the “Create Priority Numbers” activity of the “Common Masters” business component.

Background

The textual description of the background information such as the prerequisites for the current change (Alphanumeric, 2000).

Reason

The textual information illustrating the reason for which the engineering document has been created (Alphanumeric, 255).

Work Center #

Use the drop-down list to select the work center where the FCD must be performed. The system lists all the "Active" work centers that have been defined in the “Create Work Center” activity of the “Work Center” business component.

The system displays the following field on clicking the “Create FCD” pushbutton:

Work Center Description

The textual description of the work center.

Est. Elapsed Time

The total time estimated for completing the FCD (Decimal). Mandatory. Ensure that the number entered in this field is positive.

Use the drop-down list box provided alongside, to specify the unit of measurement for the time allotted for the FCD. The system displays the options “Minutes”, “Hours” and “Days”, and sets the field to “Hours” by default.

Est. Man Hrs.

The total man-hours estimated for “Skill” type resources to complete the FCD (Decimal). Mandatory. Ensure that the number entered in this field is positive.

On-Wing

Check this box, to indicate that the change can be performed when the part is fitted to the aircraft.

Follow-Up Action

Check this box, to indicate the follow-up action is required after performing the FCD.

The system displays the following fields in the “Reference Document Details” group box:

MCM #

The number identifying the Modification Committee Meeting (MCM) that processed the FCD.

MCM Date

The date on which the MCM was conducted.

MCR #

The modification change request (MCR) number.

Revision #

The revision number of the MCR.

Applicability Group #

The applicability group of the MCR.

Source Doc Type

The type of the modification document or the source document.

File Name

The name of the file that you wish to attach to the FCD (Alphanumeric, 50). Any document name that has information regarding the FCD can be specified here.

Help facility available.

  •  Select the “View File” link alongside, to view the selected file.

The system displays the following field:

Link Info

Indicates whether aircraft effectivity details, part effectivity details, part requirement, resource requirement, reference details, or periodicity details are entered for the FCD. The system displays one of the following:

  • AcEff - if aircraft effectivity details are available

  • PartEff – if part effectivity details are available

  • Tsk – if task details have been entered

  • P – if part requirements are specified

  • R - if resource requirements are specified

  • Ref – if reference details are available

  • Prd – if periodicity details are available.

If more than one of the above details are identified for the FCD, the variables will be separated by “\”.

If you have chosen automatic generation of the FCD number, the system generates the number with the prefix and suffix of the numbering type selected. The number is incremented from the last number available in the "Engineering Document" business component.

For the FCD generated, the system assigns “Fresh” status.

Note: This action is workflow-enabled. Notification messages can be sent as per the settings you have defined in the "Workflow Management" business component.

For the change request, revision number and applicability group combination, the system copies the following:

Creating change request based FCD – An overview

Create Change Request Based FCD - A summary of the activity

In this page, you can generate the fleet campaign directive (FCD) for the change request selected in the previous page. A unique number identifies the fleet campaign directive (FCD). Based on the option settings, the system either generates the FCD number automatically, or enables you to enter it manually. To generate the number automatically, you must specify the numbering type in this page.

You can specify the category to which the FCD belongs, user status, description and the ATA chapter to indicate the system on which the FCD has to be performed.

You can specify whether the FCD is applicable for the aircraft, component or engine, and its priority, background details and the reason for creating the FCD.

The execution details of the FCD such as the work center in which the FCD has to be performed, estimated time and man-hours required for the execution of the FCD, must be defined.

You can also indicate whether,

The system assigns the “Fresh” status as soon as the FCD is created, and sets the creation date and time to the server date and time

Note: If approval requirements are specified in the “Set Authorization Rules” activity, for the combination of the change document type and the source document type of the FCD, the system sets the “Authorization Status” of the FCD as “Pending”. Otherwise, the “Authorization Status” is set as “Authorization Not Required”.
