Selecting change request for creating engineering document
This page allows you to select a change request to create an engineering document. Tell me more.
Select the “Create Change Request based Engineering. document” link under the “Engineering Document” business component.
The “Select Change Request” page appears.
The system displays the following field:
Date Format |
The format in which the date fields must be entered in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the “Enterprise Modeling” component by default. |
Enter the following in the “Search Criteria” group box, to search for a change request. Data entry in the following fields is optional:
Change Doc Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the document type of the change request as “MCR”. The system retrieves all the change request numbers that are created for the document type selected here. The system sets the field to “MCR” by default. |
Source Doc Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the modification document or the source document of the change request. The system lists all the values defined in the “Create MCR Document Type“ of the “Common Master” business component. Leave this field blank, if you wish to retrieve the change request irrespective of the source document type. The system leaves the field blank by default. |
Change Request # |
The change request for which you wish to retrieve the details (Alphanumeric, 18). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the change request numbers that are similar to the value entered here. |
User Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the user status of the change request to be retrieved. |
Based on the type of the change document, namely “MCR”, the system lists the user statuses that are defined as quick codes in the “Maintenance Change Request” or “Engineering document” business component. The system retrieves all the change request numbers that are in the status specified here. |
Applicability |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the applicability of the change request document to be retrieved. The change request document could be applicable for “Aircraft”, “Engine” or “Component”. Leave this field blank, if you wish to retrieve details of change request irrespective of their applicability. The system sets the field to “Aircraft” by default. |
Category |
Use the drop-down list box to select the category to which the change request belongs Based on the type of the change document, namely “MCR”, the system lists the MCR categories categories that are defined as quick codes in the “Maintenance Change Request” or “Engineering document” business component. The system retrieves all the change requests that are of the category selected here. The system leaves the field blank by default. |
ATA # |
The ATA chapter on which change request has to be executed (Alphanumeric, 16). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the change request numbers containing ATA chapter number similar to the value entered here. Leave the field blank to retrieve the all the change requests irrespective of the ATA chapter number. |
MCM # |
The number identifying the MCM that processed the change request (Alphanumeric, 18). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. |
MCM: From Date |
The starting date, in a range of dates, in which the MCM was conducted (Date Format). The date entered here should be in the format displayed in the “Date Format” field. The system retrieves all the change requests for which the MCM was convened in the specified date. |
MCM: To Date |
The ending date, in a range of dates, in which the MCM was conducted (Date Format). The date entered here should be in the format displayed in the “Date Format” field. The system retrieves all the change requests for which the MCM was convened in the specified date. The date entered here should be greater than the “MCM: From Date”. |
Click the “Search” pushbutton to display the search results.
If you have set assignments as ‘mandatory’ in the "Set Options" activity, the system retrieves only the engineering documents that are assigned to the login user. If assignments are non-mandatory, the system retrieves all the engineering documents.
The system retrieves only those change requests for which the MCM Decision has been set as ”Execute”, Mode of Execution as engineering document and MCM Status as “Confirmed”, in the “Process Change Request” activity.
If the change doc type is “MCR”, change requests that are in the “Processed” status are retrieved.
The system retrieves only those change requests that have not been terminated by any other change request in the “Maintenance Change Request” business component.
The system retrieves only those change requests that await login user’s authorization as identified in the work flow configured in the “Work Flow Management” business component.
The system displays the following fields in the “Employee Details” group box:
Employee # |
The number identifying the currently logged in employee. |
Employee Name |
The name of the employee. |
The system displays the following in the “Search Results” multiline:
Change Doc Type |
The type of the change request document. |
Document # |
The number identifying the change request. |
Revision # |
The revision number of the change request. |
Applicability Group |
The group for which the change request is applicable. |
User Status |
The user status of the change request. |
Applicability |
Indicates whether the change request is applicable for “Aircraft”, “Component” or “Engine”. |
AMOC Identified? |
Indicates, whether AMOC has been identified for the change request. AMOC (Alternate Means Of Compliance) refers to the alternate method by which a proposed engineering change can be complied with. The alternate method could be execution of a Work Unit or a different SB or Retrofit or even changing of Next Higher Assembly (NHA) itself. The system displays one of the following options: |

The number identifying the modification committee meeting, if the change request has been processed. |
Comments |
Any comments or remarks on creating the engineering document for the change request. |

Category |
The category to which the change request belongs. |
Subject |
The textual description of the change request |
Note: For “MCR”, if more than one applicability group is associated to the change request, the system displays a multiline row for each combination of change request and applicability group. If “Allow Duplicate engineering document on the same Effectivity” is set to “No” in the “Edit Option Settings” activity, the system displays those applicability groups for which the engineering document is not created.
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline, to mark a change request for creating a new engineering document, or revise an existing engineering document.
To proceed, carry out the following
Select the “Create Engineering Document” link at the bottom of the page to create an engineering document the selected change request.
Select the “Revise Engineering Document” link at the bottom of the page to revise an existing engineering document for the selected change request.
Select the “View MCM Information” link at the bottom of the page to view the modification committee meeting information.
Select the “View Assignment Information” link at the bottom of the page to view the information regarding the assigned employees.
Selecting change request for creating engineering document – An overview
This page allows you to select a change request to create an engineering document, or to revise the engineering document that is already created for the change request. You can carry out a search based on the change document type, source document type, change request number, user status, applicability, category, ATA chapter, Modification Committee Meeting (MCM) that processed the change request and the MCM date. Based on the search criteria, the system retrieves the change requests in the multiline.
