Modifying time zone details

This page allows you to modify the time zone details that are already defined in the system. Tell me more
Select the “Edit Time Zone” under the “Common Master” business component.
The “Edit Time Zone” page appears.
The system displays the following field:

Date Format |
The format in which the date fields are displayed in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default. |
Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for the time zone that you need to modify.

Time Zone |
The code identifying the time zone that you need to modify (Alphanumeric, 30). Ensure this is a valid code and is already defined in the “Create Time Zone” activity. You can enter the time zone code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the time zones whose codes are similar to the code entered here. Leave this field blank, if you wish to search for the time zones irrespective of the time zone code. |

Zone Description |
The textual description of the time zone that you need to modify (Alphanumeric, 150). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the time zones whose descriptions are similar to the description entered here. Leave this field blank to search for the time zones irrespective of the time zone description. |

Difference From UTC |
The time difference, in hours or minutes, between the time zone and the UTC (Decimal). You can enter the time difference in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the time zones that match the time difference entered here. Leave this field blank to search for the time zones irrespective of the time difference. |

Time Unit |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the unit of measurement for time zone you need to modify. The system provides the options, “Hours” and “Minutes”. The system retrieves all the time zones that have time units similar to the value entered here. The system sets the field to “Hours” by default. Leave this field blank to search for the time zones irrespective of the time unit. |

Status |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the status of the time zone that you need to modify. The system provides the options, “Active”, and “Inactive”. The system retrieves all the time zones that are in the status entered here. The system sets the field blank by default. Leave this field blank to search for the time zones irrespective of the status. |
Note: Leave all the fields blank to display all the time zones that are already defined in the system.
Click the “Search” pushbutton to display the search results in the multiline.

Set the status as “Inactive” if you wish to disable the time zone from future reference. |

The time difference, in hours or minutes, between the time zone and the UTC (Decimal). |

Use the drop-down list box to modify the unit of measurement for the time difference between the time zone and the UTC. The system provides the options, “Hours” and “Minutes”. The system sets the field to “Hours” by default. |

Created By |
The name of the user who created the time zone. |

Created Date |
The date, in the specified date format, on which the time zone was created. |

Last Modified By |
The name of the user who last modified the time zone. |
|
Last Modified Date |
The date, in the specified date format, on which the time zone was last modified. |
Check the box in the multiline to select the time zone for which you need to modify the day light saving time details.
Click the “Edit Time Zone” pushbutton to save the modifications.
The system updates the modifications and stores the login user name and the current server date as the last modified date.

Modifying time zone details – An overview

This page allows you to modify the time zone details that are already defined in the system. You can search for the time zones based on the code, description, difference in time from UTC, unit of time and status of the time zone. The system displays all the time zones that match the filter criteria. You can modify the description, status, time difference and the time unit for the displayed time zones. The system updates the modified details and stores name of the login user and the current server date as the last modified date.

Activate or inactivate time zone
You can modify the status of the time zone to “Active” or “Inactive. An ‘inactive’ time zone is disabled from future reference in other activities.
Set the “Status” field in the “Search Results” multiline to “Active”, if you wish to enable the time zone .
Set the “Status” field in the “Search Results” multiline to “Inactive”, if you wish to disable the time zone from future references.
Modify the unit of measurement for time
You can modify the unit of measurement of time, as hours or minutes, based on which the difference in time between the time zone and UTC is specified.
Set the “Time Unit” field to “Hours”, if you wish to enter the time difference in “Hours”.
Set the “Time Unit” field to “Minutes”, if you wish to enter the time difference in “Minutes”.
