Define Process Entities - An Overview

Pages inside the activity

This activity enables you to create entities crucial for various processes, such as aircraft maintenance, component maintenance, inventory and sales.

Entities are categorized into entity types that are pre-defined in the system. For example, you can define entities, such as log card and task card required for component maintenance under the entity type Component Entry. For aircraft maintenance, you may define entities, such as Package Type and AME Ref under the entity type Aircraft Entry. Likewise, you can create deferral types under the Deferral Type entity type, such as CDL, MEL and DMI.

Each of the entity types is associated with a set of parameters that are relevant to those processes that typically utilize them. These parameters can be set in such a way so as to impact the processes to suit the needs of the organization. You must set appropriate values for the attributes for the entity, which are referred to as “process parameters. You can set the process parameters for an entity in the “Set Process Parameters” page of the activity.

To enable use of an entity in related activities, you must set the status of an entity to “Active”. To disallow use of the entity, you may set the status to “Inactive”.
