Modifying the asset location

Basics of using a typical web page

This activity allows you to modify the details of an asset location. Tell me more.

The “Edit Asset Location” page appears.

Asset Location Code

The code identifying the location in which the asset is located (Alphanumeric, 16). You can enter the code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the location codes that are similar to the value entered here.

Location Description

A textual description of the location (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the location codes that have descriptions similar to the value entered here.

Child Location

Check the box in case you want to retrieve the child location details of the location code entered.

Asset Location Type

Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the location. The location type must have been defined as quick codes in the “Create Quick Code” activity of the “Quick Code Definition” business component and must be in “Active” status. The system displays “All” by default at the launch of the page.

Note: The system retrieves the asset locations that are in “Active” status.

Asset Location Code

The code identifying the location.

Asset Location Description

A unique textual description of the asset location (Alphanumeric, 40). Mandatory.

Short Description

A unique short description of the asset location (Alphanumeric, 32). Mandatory.

Parent Location Code

The number identifying the location in which the asset is present under which this location is present (Alphanumeric, 16). The value entered in this field must be a valid location code and must be in “Active” status.

Asset Location Type

Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the location. The location type must have been defined as quick codes in the “Create Quick Code” activity of the “Quick Code Definition” business component and must be in “Active” status.

Note: At least one row in the multiline must be selected.

Edit Asset Location – A summary of the activity

You can carry out a search based on the code identifying the location, the description of the asset and the type of the asset along with the child location details. The system retrieves the asset location based on the search criteria entered. You can modify details like the description, short description and the type of the location. You can also change the parent location of the selected location code. You can modify the details only if the location is in “Active” status.
