Create Asset Location – A summary of the activity

A location can be a physical spot where the asset is placed within or outside the organization. By within the organization it is meant that the asset is present inside any one of its office premises and by outside the organization it is meant that the asset is present at a customer site or a franchisee site.

The customer site and the franchisee site are defined as types of location in which the asset is present. These location types are defined as quick codes in the “Quick Code Definition” business component based on the business requirement. This location type helps in grouping the locations that are created while generating reports.

This page allows you to define a unique code for the location and describe it in detail. Once a location is created you can create new locations under it thereby giving it a status of a parent location. For easy identification you can also give a short description for the location. The status of the location is updated to “Active” on creation. The system stores the login ID of the user and the system date along with the newly created location details.
