Configuring Smart Card Interface
In this page, you can configure the smart card interface.
Select the “Smart Card Configuration” link under the "Smart Card Interface" business component.
The “Smart Card Configuration” page appears.
Enter the following in the "PIN Settings" group box:
Maximum Number of Invalid PIN Entry |
The maximum number of invalid PIN entries permitted in the system, before the card gets locked (Integer). The number entered should be within the range 1-7. |
Minimum Number of Characters in PIN |
The minimum number of characters for entering the Personal Identification Number (Integer). The number entered should be within the range 1-8. |
Enter the following in the “Configuration Settings” group-box:

Use the drop-down list box to select the level at which the smart card interface must be enabled. The system lists the following options:

Click the “Get Details” pushbutton provided alongside.
Depending on the configuration level selected, the system retrieves all the business components, organization units and functions that are provided with smart card interface.
The system displays the following in the “Details” multiline:
Component |
The name of the business component for which smart card interface is provided. |
OU |
The organizational unit applicable to the business component. |
Function |
The name of the function for which the smart card interface is provided. |
Enter the following field:
Enabled |
Use the drop-down list box to enable or disable the smart card interface. The system lists the following options:

Click the “Save Configuration” pushbutton to save the smart card configuration details.
The system enables/disables the smart card interface for the appropriate business components/functions.
The system updates the “Enabled” field with “Partial”, under the following circumstances:
If the “Configuration At” field is set to “Installation” and the smart card interface is not enabled for some of the business components.
If the “Configuration At” field is set to “Component” and the smart card interface is not enabled for some of the functions within the business component.
