Mapping activity cost elements with cost center – An overview

Activity overview

The cost elements that have been mapped to the cost center must be unique. You can search and select the cost elements that you want to map. You can search by specifying a range of cost elements that you want to retrieve. The system retrieves all the activity cost elements based on the search criteria entered. You can also set a date range during which the mapping between the cost center and the cost elements is effective.

This page gives you a facility to default the effective date range for all the retrieved cost elements. You can also set the behavior of the cost element for the mapping. You can also enter the standard rates and the alternate rates to be used while estimating a production activity. The standard rates and the alternate rates can be defaulted based on a cost center / cost element period budget of the type both and an activity absorption plan defined for the activity element. The standard rate can also be defaulted based on a budget marked as default without specifying the budget number. The date range during which the cost center – cost element mapping is effective must fall within the date range during which the default budget is effective.

The system maps the cost elements to the cost center. The system also saves the details of the logistics organization, company, business unit and the organization unit along with the mapping details. The system also stores the login ID of the user and the system date along with the mapping details.
