This page allows you to map a cost center to operation entities. Tell me more.

The “Mapping Cost Center to Operation Entities” page appears.

Cost Center Type

Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the cost center to be mapped to the operation entity. The system lists the options as defined in the “Set Parameters” activity of the current business component.

Entity Captured

Use the drop-down list box to select the operation entity. The system lists the options “Aircraft Regn No.”, “Client” and “Location.

Effective Date

The date from which the mapping between the cost center and the operation entity would be valid (Date Format). Mandatory. The system displays the current server date, by default. The system retrieves all the mapping details that are effective on or after the date specified here.

Status

Use the drop-down list box to select the mapping status. The system lists the options “Map” and “Unmap”.  The system displays “Unmap” by default.

Note: The system ensures that the “Effective Date” is later than the cost center creation date.

If the “Status” is set to “Map”, the system retrieves all the cost centers for which the entities are to be mapped. If the “Status” is set to “Unmap”, the system retrieves mapped cost centers, for which the mapping has to be removed.

The system displays the following details in the “Mapping Details” multiline:

Cost Center

The code identifying the cost center.

Entity

The name of the operation entity (Alphanumeric,15). Mandatory.

  • If the “Entity Captured” is “Aircraft Regn No”, ensure that the entity entered here is a valid aircraft registration number as defined in the “Aircraft” business component.

  • If the “Entity Captured” is “Location”, ensure that the entity entered here is a valid location as defined in the “Organization Setup” business component.

  • If the “Entity Captured” is “Client”, ensure that the entity entered here is a valid customer as defined in the “Customer” business component.

The system displays the following:

Start Date

The starting date in the range of dates, from which the mapping would be effective.

The system displays the following while unmapping:

End Date

The ending date in the range of dates, till which the mapping would be effective.

The system displays the following:

Status

The mapping status of the cost center, which could be “Mapped” or “Unmapped”.

Note: The system ensures that the same entity is not mapped to more than one cost center.

The system performs the following on clicking the pushbutton, if the record is in “Unmapped” status:

Note: The system ensures that the “Effective Date” is later than the “Start Date” and earlier than the “End Date”.

On un-mapping, the system resets the End Date (as one day earlier than the Effective Date), and updates the status as “Unmapped”.

Note: If there is a subsequent record for the mapped record with start date later than the effective date, then the system automatically creates a new record under “Mapped” Status” with the “Start Date” as “Effective Date” and the “End Date” as one day earlier than the Start Date.

Mapping cost center to operation entities – An Overview

Create Cost Center / Unit - A summary of the activity

This page allows you to map a cost center to operation entities. You can carry out a search by specifying cost center type and the category of the entity for which you want to retrieve the details. You can also specify the effective date from which the mapping would be valid. The system retrieves the cost centers for mapping, based on the search criteria entered.

This page facilitates you to perform both mapping and un-mapping of the cost center. On mapping, the system updates the status of the cost center as “Mapped”. For the first mapping performed, the system updates the start date as the “Effective Date” and the “End Date” as null. The cost center mapped to an entity can be unmapped. While un-mapping, the system updates the end date as one day earlier than the Effective Date, and updates the status as “Unmapped”.
