Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the mapping status. The system lists the options “Map” and “Unmap”. The system displays “Unmap” by default. |
Note: The system ensures that the “Effective Date” is later than the cost center creation date.
If the “Status” is set to “Map”, the system retrieves all the cost centers for which the entities are to be mapped. If the “Status” is set to “Unmap”, the system retrieves mapped cost centers, for which the mapping has to be removed.
Click the “Get Details” pushbutton, to retrieve the mapping details.
The system displays the following details in the “Mapping Details” multiline:
Cost Center |

The mapping status of the cost center, which could be “Mapped” or “Unmapped”. |
Click the “Map” pushbutton provided at the bottom of the page, to map the cost center to an operation entity.
Note: The system ensures that the same entity is not mapped to more than one cost center.
The system performs the following on clicking the pushbutton, if the record is in “Unmapped” status:
updates the start date as the “Effective Date” and the “End Date” as null for the first mapping, and updates the status as “Mapped”.
Click the “Unmap” pushbutton provided at the bottom of the page, to unmap the cost center.
Note: The system ensures that the “Effective Date” is later than the “Start Date” and earlier than the “End Date”.
On un-mapping, the system resets the End Date (as one day earlier than the Effective Date), and updates the status as “Unmapped”.
Note: If there is a subsequent record for the mapped record with start date later than the effective date, then the system automatically creates a new record under “Mapped” Status” with the “Start Date” as “Effective Date” and the “End Date” as one day earlier than the Start Date.
Mapping cost center to operation entities – An Overview
This page allows you to map a cost center to operation entities. You can carry out a search by specifying cost center type and the category of the entity for which you want to retrieve the details. You can also specify the effective date from which the mapping would be valid. The system retrieves the cost centers for mapping, based on the search criteria entered.
This page facilitates you to perform both mapping and un-mapping of the cost center. On mapping, the system updates the status of the cost center as “Mapped”. For the first mapping performed, the system updates the start date as the “Effective Date” and the “End Date” as null. The cost center mapped to an entity can be unmapped. While un-mapping, the system updates the end date as one day earlier than the Effective Date, and updates the status as “Unmapped”.
