Recording resource usage details for visit package
This page allows you to enter the resource usage details for the visit package. Tell me more.
Select the “Record Resource Usage” link at the bottom of the “Select Visit Package” page.
The “Record Resource Usage Information” page appears.
The system displays the following field:
Date & Time Format |
The format in which the date and time fields are displayed. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date and time format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default. |
The system displays the following in the “Visit Package Details” group box:
Visit Package # |
The visit package number for which the resource usage details must be entered. |
Aircraft Reg # |
The aircraft registration number for which the visit package is applicable. |
Title |
The textual description of the visit package. Zoom facility available. |
Status |
The status of the visit package, which could be “Released” or “Partially Released”. |
Enter the following:
Resource Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the resource for which the details are to be added or modified. The available options are “Skills”, “Equipment”, “Tools”, and “Others”. The system sets the field to “Skills” by default. |
Click the “Get details” pushbutton to retrieve the resource details that are already defined for the visit package and resource type combination.
Enter the following in the “Default Details” group box:
Date |
The date that has to be defaulted in the “From Date” or “To Date” fields in all the rows in the multiline (Date Format). The system displays the current server date by default. |
Default As |
Use the drop-down list box to specify whether the date entered in the “Date” field is to be defaulted for “From Date” or “To Date”. Leave this field blank if you do not wish to specify the default date details. You have to compulsorily select a value in this field if the “Date” field is entered. The system leaves the field blank by default. |
Note: If the “From Date” or “To Date” fields for the resources are left blank in the multiline, the system sets the default date in the respective multiline columns. This type of updation is done, when several resources in the multiline have the “From Date” or “To Date”.
Enter the following in the “Resource Details” multiline:
Resource # |
The resource required for completing the task (Alphanumeric, 40). Mandatory. The resource of type “Skills” must have been defined in the “Maintain Skills“ activity of “HR Set Up” business component of and resource of type “Tools”, “Others” and “Equipment” must have been defined in the “Work Center” business component. For each resource type, the resource number must be unique within the multiline. Help facility available |
Note: The resource already reported, should not be modified.
The system fills in the following field on clicking the “Record Resource Usage” pushbutton:
Resource Description |
The textual description of the resource. |
Enter the following:
Resource Object # |
The number identifying the resource object (Alphanumeric, 40). The number should have already been defined for the resource in the “Associate Work Center Attribute” activity of the “Work Center” business component and the status should be “Active”. |
Note: The combination of resource and resource object fields should be unique in the multiline.
Time Unit |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the unit of measurement for the resource time, which could be “Minutes”, “Hours” or “Days”. The system sets the field to “Hours” by default. |
Used Duration |
The number of hours, minutes or days for which the resource is required to complete the task (Decimal). Data entry in this field is mandatory, if:
The resource hours must be equal to the difference between the “From Date” and “From Time” and “To Date” and “To Time”. The value entered should be a numeric, positive value. |
Note: If the “Resource Hours” field is left blank, and if “From Date”, “From Time”, “To Date” or “To Time” fields are entered, the system automatically calculates the “Resource Hours” field.
From Date |
The actual date from which the visit package has utilized the resource (Date Format). |
From Time |
The actual time from which the visit package has utilized the resource (Time Format). |
Note: If the “From Date” and “From Time” is left blank, the system automatically calculates the dates based on the “Resource Duration, “To Date” and “To Time” (if entered).
If “Resource Hours” field alone is entered, the system defaults the scheduled start date and time for the work order or task combination in the “From Date” and “From Time” fields.
To Date |
The actual date until which the visit package has utilized the resource (Date Format). Data entry in this field is mandatory if the “From Date” field is entered. The date entered here must be later than the “From Date” and or must be later than the schedule start date of the task in the work order. |
To Time |
The actual time until which the visit package has utilized the resource (Time Format). Data entry in this field is mandatory if the “From Time” field is entered and “Time Unit” field is set to “Hours” or “Minutes”. If the “Time Unit” field is set to “Hours” or “Minutes”, the time entered in this field must be greater than the time entered in the “From Time” field. |
Note: If the “To Date” and “To Time” fields are left blank, the system automatically calculates the date and time, based on the “Resource Duration, “From Date” and “From Time” (if entered):
If “Resource Hours” field alone is entered, the system defaults the scheduled start date and time for the work order or task combination as the “To Date” and “To Time”.
Resource Usg. Comments |
Any general comments or remarks regarding the usage of the resource for the visit package (Alphanumeric, 255). |
The system displays the following:
Last Updated Date |
The date on which the details were last updated. |
Note: Atleast one row must be entered in the multiline.
Click the “Record Resource Usage” pushbutton to update the resource usage information.
Note: On recording the resources used in executing the work order, the system also records the cost details of the resource into the corresponding finance books based on the option selected in “Financial Postings Required For” field in the "Set Options” activity of the “ Account Group” business component.
Recording resource usage details for visit package – An overview
This page allows you to enter the resource usage details for the visit package. Resource objects are the identifiable units of a resource. For example, if lathe is a resource, then the individual serial number of the lathe is a resource object. You can enter the resource code, resource object and the estimated duration against each resource type. You can also specify the period for which the resource object was used, by entering the starting and ending date and time. You are also provided with the option of specifying the default starting or ending date when multiple resources have the same starting or ending date.
The system updates the resource usage details and stores the name of the currently logged in user and current server date.

You can specify the resource required for completing the visit package.
Set the “Resource Type” drop-down list box to “Skill” to report skill type resource usage.
Set the “Resource Type” drop-down list box to “Tools” to report the tools utilized.
Set the “Resource Type” drop-down list box to “Equipment” to report the equipment utilized.
Set the “Resource Type” drop-down list box to “Others” to report any other type of resource utilized.
Specify default date for the resource listed in the multiline
If a large number of resources have the same starting or ending date, you can enter the default date values. The system updates the date fields in the multiline (if they are left blank) with the default values.
Enter the starting or ending date for the resources, in the “Date” field, in the “Default Details” group box.
Use the “Default As” field, to specify whether the date has to be defaulted for “From Date” or “To Date” in the multiline.
Enter the resource details in the multiline. You can leave the date fields blank.
On clicking the “Record Resource Usage” pushbutton, the system updates the date fields for the resources, which are left blank in the multiline, with the default values.
