This page allows you to add or modify the resource/sign-off details required for executing the task. Tell me more

The “Edit Resource/Sign-Off Requirements” page appears.

The system displays the following fields in the “Task Details” group box:

Task Applicability

Indicates whether the task is applicable for “Aircraft”, “Engine” or “Component”.

Base Aircraft Model #

The number identifying the base aircraft model on which the task can be performed

Task #

The task for which the resource details have to be specified.

Revision #

The revision number of the task for which the resource details have to be specified.

Task Description

The textual description of the task.

Resource Type

Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the resource for which the details are to be added or modified. The available options are “Tools”, “Others”, “Skills”, and “Equipment”. The system sets the field to “Skills” by default.

Update based on Actuals

Check this box if you wish to update the resource details based on the actual details of resources consumed during execution of the task.

Resource #

The resource required for completing the task (Alphanumeric, 40). The resource of type “Skills” must have been defined in the "Create Employee File" activity of "Employee Information" business component and resource of type “Tools”, “Others” and “Equipment” must have been defined in the “Work Center” business component. For each resource type, the resource number must be unique within the multiline.

The system fills in the following field on clicking the “Edit Resources” pushbutton:

Resource Description

The textual description of the resource.

Customer #

The customer # for the resource.

Time Unit

Use the drop-down list box to specify the unit of measurement for the resource time, which could be “Minutes”, “Hours” or “Days”. The system sets the field to “Hours” by default.

Est. Time

The number of hours, minutes or days for which the resource is required to complete the task (Decimal). Mandatory. For “skill” type resources, if the sum of estimated duration, in terms of hours, is greater than the total man-hours estimated for the task, the system automatically sets the estimated man-hours to the sum of the estimated duration entered in the multiline.

Est. Nos.

The number of resources required for completing the task (Integer). Ensure that the value entered in this field is positive.

Approval Reqd.?

Use the drop-down list box to indicate whether the resource should be an approved resource or not. The available options are Yes” and “No” and the system displays “No” by default.

Sign-Off?

Use the drop-down list box to indicate whether the user has to sign after the task has been carried out by the resource. The options available are “Yes” and “No”.The system displays "Yes" by default. This field is applicable only for “skill” type resources.

Allow Alternates?

Use the drop-down list box to confirm whether the task can be signed off by a mechanic with an alternate skill instead of the primary skill. Select:

  • No, to ensure that a mechanic with the requisite skill alone can sign-off the task.

  • Yes, to allow a mechanic with the alternate skill to sign-off the task.

By default, the drop-down list box is set as No.

Note: This action is workflow-enabled. Notification messages can be sent and you can configure further processing of this document in the "Workflow Management" business component.

The system performs the following:

RII Sign-Off Required?

Use the drop-down list box to select:

  • No, to indicate  the RII sign-off is not required for the Standard tasks added to the package.

  • Yes,to indicate the RII sign-off is mandatory for the Standard tasks added to the package.

The system displays the following field in the “Sub-Task Sign-Off Information” group box:

Resource Type

The type of the resource, which could be “Tools”, “Others”, “Skills” or “Equipment”. The system displays “Skills” by default.

Resource #

Use the drop-down list box to specify the resource required for completing the task. The system lists all the resources specified in the “Resource Details” multiline, for which “Resource Type” is “Skills” and “Sign-Off?” flag is set as “Yes”.

Note: If resources are deleted in the “Resource Details” multiline, the system automatically removes the corresponding resources from the “Resource #” drop-down list box.

The system displays the following fields in the “Sub-Task Sign-Off Information” multiline, on clicking the “Get Details” pushbutton:

The system lists all the sub-tasks of the resources for which the “Sign-Off? flag is set as “Yes” in the “Resource Details” multiline.

Seq #

The sequence in which the sub task should be performed, while executing the maintenance task.

Sub Tasks

The sub task that has to be performed while executing the maintenance task.

Resource Group

Use the drop-down list box to specify the resource group. The system lists the options “Not Required”, “Mechanic”, “Inspector” and “Insp & Mech”.

Note: You can set the “Resource Group” only to “Inspector” or  “Not Required”, if the resource group of the sub-task is set as “Inspector” in the previous page.

Entering resource/sign-off information for the task – An overview

Edit Task - A summary of the activity

This option allows you to add or modify the details of resources required for executing the task. If you wish to define the resources for the task, you can enter details such as resource code, estimated duration, and number of resources needed against each resource type. You can also indicate whether the resource should be an approved resource or not and whether sign off is required for the “Skill” type resource. Based on this information during work reporting sign off sheet will be automatically generated by the system. You can also retrieve resources that have already been defined for the task and modify its details.

This page also allows you to update the sign-off details pertaining to the task. You can also assign the tasks and sub tasks to resource groups in this page.
