Specifying maintenance events as a part of the maintenance program
This page enables you to specify the various maintenance events that must be performed as a part of the maintenance program. Tell me more
Select the “Edit Maintenance Event Information” link in the “Create Maintenance Program” or the “Edit Maintenance Program” page.
The “Edit Maintenance Event Information” page appears.
The system displays the following information in the “Maintenance Program Information” group box.
Maintenance Program # |
The maintenance program for which the maintenance events information must be specified. |
Revision # |
The revision number of the maintenance program. The system retrieves the latest revision that is in “Active” or “Fresh” status. |
Program Desc |
The description of the maintenance program. |
Status |
The status of the maintenance program, which can be “Fresh”, “Active”, “Inactive” or “Return”. |
Enter the following field:
Maintenance Event |
Use the drop-down list box to select the maintenance event for which dependent work units must be specified. The system lists all the maintenance events defined in the “Maintain Maintenance Events” activity in the “Common Masters” business component which are in the “Active” status. |
Click the “Get Details” pushbutton.
The system retrieves all the work units that are already defined for the maintenance program and for the selected maintenance event.
Enter the following fields in the “Dependent Work Unit Details” multiline to specify more work units for the maintenance event:

The work unit to be specified as part of the maintenance event (Alphanumeric, 30). Ensure that the work unit code is unique in the multiline. Also ensure the following based on the option selected in the “Work Unit Type” field: |

Note: The Prog. Item Type of the work unit you specify must be “Event Driven”, if the type of the work unit is “Task” or “Standard Procedure”. |

Work Unit Type |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the type of the work unit, . The drop-down list box displays “Task”, “Standard Procedure”, “Aircraft Work Package” and “Component Work Package”, if the “Multiple Work Breakdown Structure” is set to “Required” in the Set Options page of the Common Masters component. On the contrary, if the option is set to “No”, the drop-down list box offers “Task” as the only option. |
Work Center # |
The work center where the work unit must be performed (Alphanumeric, 30). Data entry in this field is mandatory if a work unit is specified. The work center should have already been defined in the “Create Work Center” activity of the “Work Center” business component and should be in “Active” status. Help facility available |
Priority |
Use the drop-down list box to attach a priority to the work unit. The system lists all the priority descriptions that are in “Active” status, created in the “Create Priority Numbers” activity of the “Common Master” business component. |

Est. Man Hrs. |
The total man-hours estimated for executing the work unit. |
Time Unit |
The unit of measurement for the time allotted for the work unit. The time unit could be “Minutes”, ”Hours” or “Days”. |
Est. Time |
The time estimated for completing the work unit. |

Mandatory ? |
Use the drop-down list box and set the field to “Yes” to indicate that the execution of the work unit is mandatory in the work package. The system sets the field to “Yes” by default. |
The system fills in the following fields on clicking the “Edit Maintenance Event” pushbutton:

Click the “Edit Maintenance Event” pushbutton to save the details of the work units for the maintenance program – maintenance event combination.
The system saves the details of the maintenance events for the maintenance program and performs the following:
If the program is in the “Active” or “Inactive” status, the system creates a new revision of the program in the “Fresh” status.
If the program is in the “Fresh” status, the system retains the existing revision of the program.
If the program is in the “Return” status, the system assigns the “Fresh” status, on modification.

You can specify the maintenance events for carrying out the program
Select the maintenance event to be specified for the program in the “Maintenance Event” field.
Specify the various work units that must be executed for the event in the “Dependent Work Units” multiline.
Click the “Edit Maintenance Event” pushbutton.
Specifying maintenance events as a part of the maintenance program – An overview
You can select the maintenance event that must be performed and specify the various work units that must be executed as a part of the maintenance event for the maintenance program. Work units can be a task, standard procedure, aircraft work package and component work package. Details of the work units such as the work unit code, the work unit type, the work center in which the work unit must be performed, the priority of the work unit, the estimated time for executing the work unit and whether the execution of the work unit is mandatory or not must be specified in the multiline.
