Associating aircraft to the maintenance program
This page enables you to associate aircraft to a maintenance program. Tell me more.
Select the “Associate Aircraft to Maintenance Program” link in the “Select Maintenance Program” page. Alternatively, select the hyperlinked program number in the multiline of the same page.
The “Associate Aircraft to Maintenance Program” page appears.
The system displays the following field:
Date Format |
The format in which the date fields are displayed in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the "Enterprise Modeling" business component by default. |
The system displays the following fields in the “Maintenance Program Details” group box:
Maintenance Program # |
The maintenance program to which aircraft must be associated. |
Revision # |
The revision number of the maintenance program. |
Program Desc. |
The description of the program. |
Status |
The status of the program, which can be “Fresh” or “Active”. |
Enter the following fields in the “Aircraft Model Details” multiline:
Aircraft Reg # |
The registration number of the aircraft, which must be attached to the maintenance program (Alphanumeric, 30). Mandatory. Ensure that the aircraft is already created in the “Create Aircraft” activity of the “Aircraft” business component and is in “Active” status. Alternately, you can enter Nose # in the field. The smart search retrieves all the aircraft with the nose # similar to that specified in the field. |
Help facility available |
Note: Ensure that the aircraft registration number is valid for the aircraft model associated to the aircraft maintenance program displayed in the “Maintenance Program #” field.
Also, ensure that the aircraft registration number is not repeated in the multiline.
The system displays the following fields on clicking the “Associate Aircraft” pushbutton.
Aircraft Model # |
The aircraft model to which the aircraft belongs. |
Model Description |
The description of the aircraft model. |
Model Type |
The type of the aircraft model. |
Sub Fleet # |
The sub-fleet to which the aircraft belongs. |
Enter the following field:
Association Status |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the status of the aircraft association. Mandatory. The system provides the following options:
|
The system displays the following fields on clicking the “Associate Aircraft” pushbutton:
Associated By |
The login ID of the user who associated the aircraft. |
Associated Date |
The date on which the aircraft was associated. |
Enter the following field:
Primary Program? |
Use the drop-down list box and set the field to “Yes” to set the program as the primary program for the aircraft. Otherwise, set the field to “No”. |
Note: You can set only one program as the primary program for an aircraft.
The system displays the following fields on clicking the “Associate Aircraft” pushbutton.
Customer # |
If the aircraft is owned by a customer, the system retrieves the customer number in this field. |
Check the box in the multiline to mark the record for deletion.
Click the Delete icon in the toolbar above the multiline to delete the record selected in the multiline.
Click the “Associate Aircraft” pushbutton to associate aircraft to the maintenance program.
The system associates the aircraft to the maintenance program and copies the work units defined for the program along with its schedules and all the resources defined for carrying out the program. Consequently, the system performs the following tasks.
Sets the Schedule Status of tasks in the aircraft specific program to “Fresh”.
Conversely, the Schedule Status of the task is set to “Inactive” in the following scenarios:
1. For tasks with Job Type = “Aircraft”, if the task is not effective for the aircraft, as defined in the Maintenance Task component.
2. For tasks with Job Type = “On-Wing”, if the task is not effective for the part specified at the Position Code - Level Code location of the aircraft, as defined in the aircraft configuration.
c. However, a task with Job Type = “On-Wing” is not copied to the aircraft-specific maintenance program, if the Position Code - Level Code combination specified for the part for which the task is scheduled for execution is not defined in the aircraft configuration.
The system updates the next schedule date for the aircraft registration number with the following value:
Assume that the scheduled date for a work unit is 11-10-2003. If tolerance value is specified as +/-2 days, the Earliest schedule date for the work unit is 09.10.2003 and Latest schedule date for the work unit is 13.10.2003 (inclusive of 9.10.2003 and 13.10.2003) and the repeat interval is set as 20 days.
If the “Update Basis” is selected as “Schedule”, and if the work unit was executed on 10.10.2003 (within the specified limits) then the next schedule date of the work unit is 31.10.2003 (The NSD for the work unit is based on a fixed interval of 20 days irrespective of when the work was executed (11.10.2003+ 20 days (Repeat Interval)).
If the “Update Basis” is selected as “Actual Completion”, and if the work unit was executed on 09.10.2003 (within the specified limits) then the next schedule date of the work unit is 29.10.2003 (ie 09.10.2003+20 days (Repeat Interval)).
If the “Update Basis” is selected as “Time Window”,
1. If the work unit was executed on 10.10.2003 (within the specified limits) then the next schedule date of the work unit is 30.10.2003. (10.10.2003+20days).
2. If the work unit was executed on 05.10.2003 (beyond the specified limits) then the next schedule date of the work unit is 25.10.2003 (05.10.2003+20days).
3. If both date based and usage based schedules are defined for the work unit then the “Sch.Exe Rule” (Values “Earliest” and “Latest”) identified for the work unit in the maintenance program will be considered.
Engineering document impact: If the maintenance program being associated to the aircraft has been modified with reference to an engineering document, upon authorization the ‘Program Updated?’ flag in the engineering document is set as ‘Yes’.
Click the “Confirm Maint. Program” pushbutton to confirm the maintenance program.
Note: You can confirm a maintenance program only when it is in the “Fresh” status. The system confirms the maintenance program and sets the status of the program to “Confirmed”. Further modification of the program is not possible.
Note: On confirmation, the system changes the 'Association status' from “Fresh” to "Active”.
Check the box in the multiline to select the aircraft to modify the maintenance program for a specific aircraft.
To proceed, carry out the following
Select the hyperlinked sub-fleet number to view the sub-fleet details.
Select the “Edit Aircraft Specific Maint. Program” link at the bottom of the page to edit the program details.
Note: Ensure that atleast one aircraft is selected in the multiline, to invoke the “Edit Aircraft Specific Maintenance Program” page.
Select the "View Compliance Details" link at the bottom of the page to view compliance history of the maintenance program.
Set the association status of the aircraft to the program
Set the association status of the aircraft to the program
Set the “Association Status” field to “Fresh” if you are associating the aircraft to the program for the first time.
Set the “Association Status” field to “Active” to activate the association.
Set the “Association Status” field to “Inactive” to inactivate the association.
Associating aircraft to the maintenance program – An overview
This page enables you to associate aircraft to a maintenance program. You can associate only those aircraft that are already a part of a sub-fleet. This is because, forecasting for due dates to carry out maintenance activities on an aircraft is done at the sub-fleet level in the “Aircraft Maintenance Forecast” business component.
You can set the status of the association of the aircraft to the program as “Fresh” when it is associated to the program for the first time. You can set the status as “Active” to activate the association, or as “Inactive” to sever the association of the aircraft to the program. You can also set one of the programs as the primary program for the aircraft. Changes in the work units that refer to engineering documents are reflected in the primary program.
Note: If the “Sub Fleet Security” field has been set to “Required” in the “Set Options” activity, ensure that the login user has the permission for the sub fleet for associating aircraft to program.
