Basics of using a typical web page

Using Online Help

This page allows you to  enter the component effectivity details for the parts included in the MCR.  Tell me more

The “Edit Recommended Component Effectivity” page appears.

The system displays the following fields in the “MCR Details” group box:

MCR #

The number identifying the MCR for which the component effectivity details must be defined.

Revision #

The revision number of the MCR, if any.

Subject

The textual description of the MCR.

Source Doc Type

The type of the source document to which the MCR belongs.

Part #

Use the drop-down list box to select the part number for which the component effectivity details are to be defined. The system lists all the part numbers that are defined for the MCR in the “Edit Part Effectivity” page.

The system fills in the following fields:

Part Identifier

The identifier of the part, which could be “Internal” or “Supplier”.

Part Description

The textual description of the part.

The system displays the multiline fields if the component effectivity details have already been defined for the MCR.

From Manufacturer Serial #

The starting serial number in the range of serial numbers of the components for which the MCR is applicable (Alphanumeric, 15). Mandatory. Ensure that the serial number is unique in the multiline. Once entered, this field cannot be modified.

To Manufacturer Serial #

The ending serial number in the range of serial numbers of the components for which the MCR is applicable (Alphanumeric, 15). Mandatory. Ensure that the serial number is unique in the multiline. Once entered, this field cannot be modified.

Note: For example, if the MCR must be executed on all the components starting from the serial number “D00350” to “D00361”, then you can enter “D00350” in the “From Aircraft Identifier #” field and “D00361” in the “To Aircraft Identifier #” field.

Applicability Group #

The number identifying the group to which the set of components on which the MCR must be executed belongs (Integer). Mandatory. Ensure that the value entered in this field is positive.

For example, a set of components with serial numbers ranging from “D00350” to “D00361” and “D00470” to “D00475” can belong to applicability group “1”. The serial numbers from “D11775” to “D11776” and “D11850” to “D11859” can belong to applicability group “2”.

Note: While entering other relevant details for the MCR, you can refer to this applicability group number, to indicate the set of components for which the compliance details, configuration changes, resources required, etc. are applicable.

Reference Date Basis

Use the drop-down list box to specify the Reference Date basis for the effective from date of the Component. The system lists the values “Induction Date”, “Operational Date” and “Manufactured Date” along with a blank value.

Eff. From Date

The date from which the component is effective.

Note: The “Reference Date Basis’ and ‘Eff. From Date’ fields appear only if the screen is launched for an MCR # whose Eff. From Date is set as ‘Maint. Obj. Level'.

Defining component effectivity for the MCR – An overview

Edit MCR - A summary of the activity

This page allows you to enter the component effectivity details for the parts included in the MCR. You can specify the serial numbers of the components for which the MCR is applicable. Components can be grouped based on their manufacturer serial numbers. You can enter a range of serial numbers and associate it to a group number. This is illustrated in the following table:

Manufacturer Serial #

Applicability Group number

D00350 – D00360

1

D00470 – D00475

1

D11850 – D11859

2

In the above example, the MCR will be executed on Group 1 and Group 2 components, for the manufacturer serial numbers specified in the table.

While entering other relevant details for the MCR, you can refer to this applicability group number, to indicate the group of components for which the compliance details, configuration changes, resources required etc. are applicable.
