This page allows you to create packaging code. Tell me more.
Select the “Maintain Packaging Codes” link under the “Logistics Common Master” business component.
The “Maintain Packaging Codes” page appears.
The system displays the following:
Date Format |
The format in which the date fields appears in this page. |
This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default. |
Enter the following filter criteria in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for a packaging code. Data entry in the fields is optional.
Packaging Code |
The packaging code for which the details are to be modified (Alphanumeric, 25). |
You can enter the packaging code in full, or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the packaging codes that are similar to the value entered here. |

Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the packaging code to be modified. The status could be “Active” or “Inactive”. The system retrieves all the packaging codes that are in the status specified here. Leave this field blank if you wish to retrieve details of packaging codes irrespective of their status. The system leaves the field blank by default. |
Click the “Search” pushbutton to display the search result in the “Search Results” multiline.
Enter the following in the “Search Results” multiline, if you wish to create a new packaging code:
Packaging Code |
A unique number identifying the packaging method (Alphanumeric, 25). Mandatory. This can be a combination of characters and digits. Ensure that this number is unique to the organization unit. Enter this field to create a new packaging code. |
Note: When you try to modify the already created packaging code, the system will display an error message.
Enter the following to create a new packaging code or to modify the existing packaging code details:
Description |
The textual description of the packaging code (Alphanumeric, 150). Mandatory. |
Length |
The length of the package corresponding to the packaging code. |
Breadth |
The breadth of the package corresponding to the packaging code. |
Height |
The height of the package corresponding to the packaging code. |
UOM |
Use the drop-down list box and select the Unit of Measurement (UOM) of the package. The system lists all the ‘Active’ UOM codes defined in the “UOM” business component. |
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to modify the status of the packaging code to “Active” or “Inactive”. |
Set the status as “Inactive” if you wish to disable the packaging code for future reference in other activities. You have to set the field as “Active” when you create the packaging code for the first time. |
The system displays the following:
Created By |
The name of the user who created the packaging code. |
Created Date |
The date on which the packaging code was created. |
Last Modified By |
The name of the user who last modified the packaging code information. |
Last Modified Date |
The date on which the packaging code details were last modified. |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline, to mark the packaging code for deletion.
Click the “Maintain Packaging Codes” pushbutton, to create or to modify the packaging code details.
Activate or inactivate packaging code
Activate or inactivate packaging code
You can inactivate a packaging code that is in the “Active” status, so that it is disabled from future reference in other activities.
Set the “Status” field as “Inactive”.
The system updates the status of the packaging code to “Inactive”.
