This activity allows you to create a flight schedule number for different flight number and leg number combinations. Tell me more.
Select the “Create Flight Schedule #” link under the “Flight Assignment” business component.
The “Create Flight Schedule #” page appears
Enter the following in the “Schedule Date Range” group box:
Flight Schedule # |
A unique number identifying the flight schedule (Alphanumeric, 30). Data entry in this field is mandatory if “Numbering Type for Flight Schedule #” is set as “Manual” in the “Set Options” activity. |
Numbering Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the numbering type to be used by the system for generating the flight schedule number. The system lists all the numbering types defined in the “Create Numbering Class” activity of the “Document Numbering Class” business component that are valid on the current date. Data entry in this field is mandatory if “Numbering Type for Flight Schedule #” is set as “Automatic” in the “Set Options” activity. The system leaves this field blank by default. |
From Date |
The date starting from which the flight operations are to be scheduled (Date Format). Mandatory. |
To Date |
The date until which the flight operations are to be scheduled (Date Format). Mandatory. The “To Date” must be later than the “From Date”. |
Repeatable |
Use the drop-down list box to specify whether the flight schedule is repeatable for the same date range in the subsequent year. The system lists the options “Yes” and “No”. The system leaves this field blank by default. |
Enter the following details in the “Schedule Details” multiline:
Flight # |
The number identifying the flight for scheduling (Alphanumeric, 30). Mandatory. The flight number must be valid and should be in “Active” status as defined in the “Create Flight Code” activity. Help facility available. |
Leg # |
The number identifying the leg in the journey (Integer). The flight number and the leg number combination should be valid, as defined in the “Create Flight Code” activity. |
Note: The combination of flight number and leg number is called ‘flight code’. The flight code should be unique across flight assignments.
Sch. Option |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the scheduling option. The system lists the following:
By default, the system sets this field to “Daily”. |
Sunday |
The standard flight departure time on a Sunday (Time Format). |
Monday |
The standard flight departure time on a Monday (Time Format). |
Tuesday |
The standard flight departure time on a Tuesday (Time Format). |
Wednesday |
The standard flight departure time on a Wednesday (Time Format). |
Thursday |
The standard flight departure time on a Thursday (Time Format). |
Friday |
The standard flight departure time on a Friday (Time Format). |
Saturday |
The standard flight departure time on a Saturday (Time Format). |
Note: If all the fields from “Sunday” to “Saturday” are left blank and if “Sch. Option” is set as “Daily”, the system automatically assigns the “Std. Departure Time” specified in the “Create Flight Code” activity to all the days of the week.
Note: If you have set the scheduling option as “Alternate” or “Others”, ensure that at least one of the fields from “Sunday” to “Saturday” is entered.

In the above table, if the “Sch. Option” is “Daily” and if you have set the flight departure time as “10:00:00” hours for “Sunday”, the system automatically assigns the same departure time for all the other days of the week.
If the “Sch. Option” is “Alternate” and If you have set the flight departure time as “08:00:00” hours for “Sunday”, the system automatically assigns the departure time for alternate days of the week.
If the “Sch. Option” is “Others”, the system considers the standard departure time entered against the day of the week.
The system displays the following field in the multiline:

The total duration of the journey. |
Enter the following fields:
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the status of the flight. The system lists the options “Operative” and “In-operative”. By default, the system sets this field to “Operative”. |
Trip # |
The number identifying the trip in the journey (Alphanumeric, 150). |
Remarks |
Any additional information pertaining to the flight schedule (Alphanumeric, 150). |
Note: Ensure that at least one record is entered in the multiline.
Check the box in the “Select” column in the multiline, to mark a record for deletion.
Click the Delete icon in the toolbar above the multiline, to delete the selected record.
Click the “Create Flight Schedule #” pushbutton to create the flight schedule.
Note: The system ensures that the flight number does not exist in any other flight schedule for the same time period.
Enter the following field in the “Document Attachments Detail” group box:
File Name |
The name of the document attached to the flight schedule (Alphanumeric, 50). Help facility available. |
Click the “View File” link provided alongside to view the file details.
Creating flight schedule – An overview
This activity allows you to create a flight schedule for various combinations of flight number and leg number. You can define the flight schedule for a specified date range. The scheduling can be the same, or different, for each day of the week. The flight schedule can be employed for subsequent years for the same date range.
