The execution of engineering document might require new parts that are not defined in Inventory. Tell me more.

The  “View New Part Requirements” page appears.

The system displays the following field in the “Eng. Doc. Details”:

Eng. Doc #

The engineering document for which the new part requirement details are displayed.

Revision #

The revision number of the engineering document.

Subject

The textual description of the engineering document.

 Part Identifier

The MCR identifier of the part, which could be “Internal” or “Supplier”. The system displays the field when the engineering document is created from the maintenance change request.

Currency

The currency for the login organization unit.

The system displays the following field in the “Part Details” multiline:

Suggested Part #

The number identifying the new part that is suggested for engineering document execution.

Actual Part #

The actual part number created in the “Part Administration” business component for the new part.

MCR Part #

The MCR part number for the suggested part. The system displays the field only when the engineering document is created from the MCR.

Existing Part #

The part that must be replaced by the suggested part.

Part Description

The textual description of the suggested part.

Source Type

The type of the source from where the part will be issued.

Part Type

The type of the part.

Expense Type

The type of expense incurred while purchasing the part, which could be “Capital” or “Revenue”.

UOM

The unit of measurement for the suggested part.

Recommended Use

The action recommended for the part that is replaced. The system displays one of the following:

 
  • Discard – Indicates that the existing part can be discarded.

 
  • Rework – Indicates that the existing part can be reworked.

 
  • Others – Indicates that the part can be kept for other uses.

Interchangeability

The interchangeability rule defined for the part. The system displays one of the following:

 
  • One Way – Indicates that the part numbers cannot be interchanged in the same position code. For example, if part P2 has replaced part P1 in position code PC1, then P1 cannot replace part P2 subsequently, in the same position code.

 
  • Two Way – Indicates that the part numbers can be interchanged in the same position code. For example, part numbers P1 and P2 can replace each other in the same position code subsequently.

 
  • None – indicates that the existing part cannot be replaced by the suggested part.

Status

The status of the suggested part, as defined in the “Part Administration” business component.

Confirmed?

Indicates whether the part requirement is confirmed or not. The system displays either “Yes” or “No”.

Unit Price

The unit price of suggested part.

Purchase Lead Time (Days)

The time required for purchasing the part.

Supplier Details

The details of the supplier from whom the part can be purchased.

Ref. Doc. Type

The type of the document, which is provided as a reference for the identification of  the requirement of new part.

Ref. Doc. #

A number identifying the engineering reference document

Ref. Notes

The execution of engineering document might require new parts that are not defined in Inventory. In this page you can view the details of the new parts specified for the engineering document.

The details of the new parts such as part number, its description, source from where the new part must be issued, the type of the part, the type of expense incurred, unit of measurement for the part and the quantity are displayed. Additionally, the system displays the actual part number of the new part as defined in the “Part Administration” business component, the part that must be replaced, the recommended use of the existing part and the part interchangeability rule.
