Selecting CWO for reporting inspection findings
This page enables you to select a component work order for reporting the inspection findings details. Tell me more.
Select the “Report Inspection Findings” link under the “Component Work Order” business component.
The “Select Component Work Order” page appears.
The system displays the following field:
Date Format |
The format in which the date field is displayed. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user id. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the "Enterprise Modeling" business component by default. |
Enter the following field in the “Direct Entry” group box, if you know the CWO number for which the inspection findings must be reported:
Comp. Work Order # |
The number identifying the component work order for which the inspection findings must be reported (Alphanumeric, 18). |
Select the “Report Inspection Findings” link provided alongside to report the inspection findings for the CWO.
To search for a component work order
Enter the following fields in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for the component work order for which you want to record inspection findings. Data entry in the following fields is optional:
Comp. Work Order # |
The number of the component work order for which the inspection findings must be reported (Alphanumeric, 18). You can enter the CWO number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all CWO numbers that are similar to the number entered here. |
CWO Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the CWO. The system lists the following options: |

Maintenance Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the maintenance type of the component work order. The system lists the options “Inspection”, “Repair”, “Overhaul” and “Others”. The system retrieves component work orders of the type specified here. Leave this field blank to retrieve the CWOs irrespective of their maintenance type. |

User Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the user status of the CWO. The system lists all the ‘active’ quick codes of the type “User Status” defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity. The system retrieves the CWO number of the user status specified here. By default, this field is left blank. |

Part # |
The part number to which the component belongs (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the part number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all CWO numbers in which the part number is similar to the value entered here. |
Component # |
The number identifying the component on which the inspection was carried out (Alphanumeric, 90). You can enter the component number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all CWO numbers in which the component number is similar to the value entered here. |
CWO Category |
Use the drop-down list box to select the category of the component work order. The system lists all the ‘active’ quick codes of type “CWO Category” defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity. The system retrieves the CWO number of the CWO category specified here. Leave this field blank to retrieve the CWOs irrespective of their category. |
Work Center # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the work center, which is responsible for the CWO execution. The system lists all the ‘active’ work centers that are associated with the login user and organizational unit. The system retrieves the CWO number of the work center specified here. By default, this field is left blank. |

Planned Date: From |
The date on which the component work order execution is planned for start (Date Format). |
Planned Date: To |
The date on which the component work order execution is planned for completion (Date Format). |
Note: Ensure that the date entered in the “Planned Date: From” is not later than the date entered in the “Planned Date: To” field.
Work Scope # |
The number identifying the work scope against which the CWO has been raised (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves component work orders raised against the work scope number entered here. |
Job Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the job type of the CWO. The system lists the options “Component” and “Piece Part”. The system retrieves all component orders with job type as selected here. |
Piece Part # |
The number identifying the piece part number for which the CWO has been raised (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves component work orders raised for the piece part number entered here. |
SOS Disposition |
Use the drop-down list box to select the SOS disposition of the CWO. The drop-down list displays the following: "Confirmed Failure", "Suspected Failure" and "No Fault Found". The system retrieves the CWOs that have the SOS disposition you specify here. |
Note: The search criterion SOS Disposition is not available, if the "SOS Program Applicability" is set to “'Not Applicable” in the Set Options activity of the Common Masters component |

Customer # |
The number identifying the customer (Alphanumeric, 18). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the component work orders that have customer number similar to the number entered here. |
Customer Name |
The name of the customer (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the name in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the component work orders that have customer name similar to the name entered here. |
CWO Priority |
Use the drop-down list box to indicate the priority of the component work order. The drop-down list displays all priority numbers defined in the Common Masters component, having both Active and Inactive status. The system retrieves component work orders with the priority that you specify here. |
If you leave all the fields blank, then the system retrieves all the component work orders created in the login organizational unit, that are in the “Fresh”, “Scheduled” or “In Progress” status.
Click the “Search” pushbutton to display the search results.
The system displays the following fields in the “Search Results” multiline based on the filter criteria entered:

The status of the component work order, which could be “Fresh”, “Scheduled” or “In Progress”. |
SOS Disposition |
The SOS disposition of the CWO, such as "Confirmed Failure", "Suspected Failure" or "No Fault Found" |
User Status |
The user-defined status of the component work order. |
CWO Description |
The textual description of the component work order. |
Insp. Findings Reported? |
The system displays “Yes” or “No” to indicate whether the inspection findings have already been reported on the component. |
Customer # |
The number identifying the customer. |
Customer Name |
The name of the customer. |

Selecting CWO for reporting inspection findings – An overview
In this page, you can select a component work order for which the inspection findings on the component or the piece part must be reported. If you know the CWO number, you can directly enter it. Otherwise, you can carry out a search based on the CWO number, maintenance type, user-status of CWO, part number, component number, category of the CWO, primary work center, work scope number, job type, piece part number and the start and end dates for CWO execution. Details such as CWO number, maintenance type, part number, serial number, category of CWO, status of CWO, user-status, CWO description and whether inspection findings have been already reported or not, are displayed.
You can retrieve component work orders that are in the “Fresh”, “Scheduled” or “In-Progress” status.
