Component Work Order - An overview

Aircraft components which are removed for scheduled or unscheduled maintenance, are sent to the repair shop for necessary overhaul or for any inspection or repair. Component is sent to the corresponding shop along with a Work Scope, which contains the activities to be performed at the component shop or the snag reported on the component. These include periodic inspection, testing or overhaul, execution of Engineering Orders etc.

Component Work order can be created for execution of maintenance jobs on aircraft component (s). Component Work Order is the means of communicating the maintenance jobs that must be carried out on components in the component shops by the planners. This business component also deals with scheduling and planning of various Component Work orders in a given period of time depending upon the resource availability in that period and the requirement of resources for work orders.

You can also create a component work order for resolving discrepancies or maintenance reports generated against a component.
