Moving customer parts at the line item level to the warehouse
This page allows you to move the parts received from the customer through a customer goods receipt to the selected multiple storage location ( warehouse/zone/bin). Tell me more
Select the “Move Goods - Linewise” link at the bottom of the “Move Customer Goods” page.
The “Move Customer Goods – Linewise ” page appears.
The system displays the following:
Date Format |
The format in which the date fields are displayed in this page. This format is displayed from the “User Preferences” business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default. |
The system displays the following in the “Customer Goods Receipt Details” group box:
CGR # |
The unique code identifying the customer goods receipt note. |
Note: The system ensures that the CGR # corresponds to a CGR with the status “ Freezed” or “Partially Moved”. |

Status |
The status of the CGR line item. The system lists all the CGR line items, which are in the “Freezed” status. |
Customer # |
The unique number identifying the customer |
Customer Name |
The name of the customer |
Receipt Date |
The date of creation of the customer goods receipt. |
Enter the following fields in the “Customer Goods Receipt Details” group box:
CGR Line # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the customer goods receipt line number, to be moved to the warehouse. The system lists all the line numbers, which contain part numbers that are to be moved to the warehouse. |
Note: The system lists all the “CGR line #” for the given CGR # reference in the ascending order.
Click the “Get Details” pushbutton to retrieve the CGR line number details.
Note: If the 'Ref Doc Type' is 'Others' then for the ‘Part # - Work Center combination’ and ‘Work Center - warehouse combination’ the system retrieves and displays the 'Return Warehouse # - Cores' for material type main core or the 'Issue Warehouse #' for material type regular and defaults it in the 'Warehouse #' combo.
Note: If the “Placement Strategy” is set as “Manual” for the selected CGR line item, then the following points must be noted while entering the “WH – Zone #” and “Bin #” details:
a) The zone and bin entered should be valid and existing in “Active” status in the “Storage Area Administration” business component.
b) For a warehouse of type “Free”, the “WH- Zone #” and “Bin #” must be left blank.
c) For a zone of type “Free”, the “Bin #” must be left blank.
d) The system checks the “Capacity Constraint” for the warehouse/zone/bin before associating the storage location details to the parts.
e) The system ensures that the “Warehouse #”, WH- Zone #” and “Bin #” selected allows the stocking of goods for the specified customer.
f) The system ensures if the part is neither “Serial Controlled” nor “Lot Controlled”, then the customer must be associated to the “Exclusive” storage area for the specified warehouse in the “Storage Area Administration” business component.
g) The system ensures If the part is “Serial Controlled”, “Lot Controlled” or “Both”, then multiple customer goods can be associated to the “Shared” storage area for the specified warehouse in the “Storage Area Administration” business component.
Note: If the zone is left blank in the multiline and warehouse of type “Normal” is selected in the multiline, then the system retrieves the zone as selected in the “Default Value” group box.
Note: If the bin is left blank in the multiline and zone of type “Normal” is selected in the multiline, then the system retrieves the value of the bin as selected in the “Default Value” group box.
The system displays the following in the “Customer Goods Receipt Details” group box:
Part # |
The unique code identifying the part. |
Customer Part # |
The unique code identifying the customer supplied part. |
Part Description |
The textual description of the part. Zoom facility available. |
Part Control Type |
The part control type, which could be “Serial Number Controlled”, “Lot Number Controlled”, “Both” or “None”. |
Total Received Quantity |
The total quantity of the parts received from the customer. |
Enter the following fields in the “Default Values” group box:
Warehouse # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the warehouse to stock the goods. For the “Customer Order Based Goods Receipt”, the system displays all the receiving locations, which are defined in the “Customer Order“ business component. For the “Direct Customer Goods Receipt”, the system displays all the 'Active' warehouses, where the customer is allowed to stock the goods as defined in the “Maintain Storage Allocation & Strategies” activity of the “Storage Area Administration” business component. |
WH- Zone # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the zone. The system lists all the “Active” zones associated to the specified warehouse if the warehouse is of type “Normal”. The system leaves the field blank, for the warehouse of type “Free”. |
Note: The zone entered must have been mapped to the default warehouse. |

Bin # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the bin. The system lists all the “Active” bins associated to the specified warehouse if the zone is of type “Normal”. The system leaves the field blank, for the zone of type “Free”. |
The system displays the following in the “CGR Line # Details” multiline:
Manufacturer Serial # |
The unique code identifying the manufacturer serial number of the part (Alphanumeric, 40). Help facility available. |
Manufacturer Lot # |
The unique code identifying the manufacturer lot number of the part (Alphanumeric, 40). Help facility available. |
Enter the following fields in the “CGR Line # Details” multiline:
Stock Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the user-defined stock status. The system lists all the active statuses defined for the “Customer Goods” in the “User Defined Stock Status” business component for the transaction type “Customer Goods Receipt”. The system considers the default ‘Stock Status’ as defined in the “User Defined Stock Status” business component, if this field is left blank. |
Warehouse # |
The unique code identifying the warehouse to which the customer goods can be moved (Alphanumeric, 10). Help facility available. |
Note: Ensure that warehouse is selected either in the “Default Value” group box or “Receipt Information” multiline.
Note: Ensure that the “Warehouse #” selected allows the stocking of goods for the specified “Customer #” and “Customer Name”.
Click the “Get Storage Details” pushbutton to retrieve the storage details of the zone and the bin for the selected warehouse.
Note: If the “Placement Strategy” for the part is not Manual in Storage Admin then, for the Part - Warehouse - Stock Status-Customer #' combination as defined in the "Storage Administration" business component the system will fetch the default placement 'WH-Zone' and 'Bin'.
Note: The system checks whether the Customer parts are allowed in the specified defaulted warehouse through the service provided in “Storage Administration” business component.
Note: If the “Placement Strategy” is set as “Automatic” for the selected CGR line item, the system automatically retrieves the storage details such as the warehouse, zone and bin information stored against the CGR line item.
Note: If the “Placement Strategy” is set as “Manual” for the selected CGR line item, then the following points must be noted while entering the “WH – Zone #” and “Bin #” details:
a) The zone and bin entered should be valid and existing in “Active” status in the “Storage Area Administration” business component.
b) For a warehouse of type “Free”, the “WH- Zone #” and “Bin #” must be left blank.
C) For a zone of type “Free”, the “Bin #” must be left blank.

WH – Zone # |
The unique code identifying the zone associated with the warehouse, if the warehouse is of type “Normal” (Alphanumeric, 10). |
Note: If the zone is left blank in the multiline and warehouse of type “Normal” is selected in the multiline, then the system retrieves the zone as selected in the “Default Value” group box. Note: The zone entered must have been mapped to the warehouse selected in the multiline. |

Note: The bin entered must have been mapped to the zone selected in the multiline.
The system displays the following in the “CGR Line # Details” multiline:
Part Condition |
The condition of the part, which could be "Serviceable", "Over hauled", "New", or "Unserviceable". |
Received Qty |
The quantity of the parts received from the customer. |
Click the “Copy Lot#” pushbutton to copy the lot number details of the part to the subsequent multiline
Note: On copying the manufacturer lot details to the subsequent multiline, the system generates unique multiple internal lot number for the manufacturer lot quantity .The sum total of part received quantity for all the rows will equal the quantity received for that manufacturer lot# .
Enter the following fields in the “CGR Line # Details” multiline:
Moved Qty |
The quantity of the part moved to the respective warehouses (Integer). Mandatory. The value entered here must be greater than zero. |
Note: Ensure that the value entered here is less than or equal to the “Received Quantity” for the multiline.
The system displays the following in the “Storage Details” multiline:
Serial # |
The serial number of the part. |
Lot # |
The lot number of the part. |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline, to mark the part to be moved to the warehouse.
Click the “Copy Lot#” pushbutton to copy the lot number details of the part.
Enter the following field in the “Remarks” group box:

Any further information pertaining to the movement of the parts (Alphanumeric, 255). Zoom facility available. |
The system displays the following in the “Record Statistics” group box:
Created By |
The name of the user, who created the customer goods receipt document. |
Created Date |
The date on which the customer goods receipt document was created. |

The name of the user, who last modified the customer goods receipt document |
Last Modified Date |
The date on which the customer goods receipt document was last modified. |
To copy Lot number part details
You can copy the details of the lot number controlled part available in the line item to the subsequent line item in the “ CGR Line # Details” multiline.
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline, to mark the line item containing the lot number controlled part to be copied to the subsequent line item.
Note: Ensure that details of only the part with part type as “ Lot Control” is selected for copying.
Also ensure that the “Manufacturer Lot #” detail is provided.
The system regenerates the line # and updates the copied lot number information.
To move the customer goods
Click the “Move Parts” pushbutton, to move the selected parts specified in the CGR line item to the warehouse.
The system updates the status of the part as “Moved”.
The system generates the internal serial # and lot # for serial number controlled and/or lot number controlled parts on movement to warehouse/zone/bin.
If the “Placement Strategy” for the part is not Manual in ‘Storage Admin’ then, for the “Part - Warehouse - Stock Status-Customer #” combination as defined in the "Storage Administration" business component the system will fetch the default placement 'WH-Zone' and 'Bin'.
If the “CGR Line#” is in "moved" status, the system sets the CGR document status as 'moved'. Else the system sets the document status as 'Partially Moved'.
For parts that are of type “None Controlled”, the system checks whether the Customer parts are allowed in the exclusive warehouse as defined in the “Storage Administration” business component.
For a specified part number-serial number combination, the system updates the component ID, serial number, part quantity, stock status and the ownership of the part in the “Stock Maintenance” business component, on CGR movement.
Note: The system updates the ownership of the part with the new customer number specified for the part-serial number combination in the stock maintenance, if the “Allow Owner Change of External Parts” is set to “Yes” in the “Set Options” activity of the “Stock Maintenance” business component.
Note: Hazmat Compliance should be recorded for all the Hazmat parts in the Customer Goods Receipt document if the option for Hazmat Compliance for Customer Goods Receipt is set as “Enforce Compliance” in “Set Inventory Process Parameters” activity of the Logistics Common Master Business component. Else the system will throw an error message.
To proceed, carry out the following
Select the "Maintain External Stock Allocation” link at the bottom of the page, to maintain external stock allocation details.
Select the “Generate MMD Report” link at the bottom of the page, to generate a stock status report in the form of a material movement document.
Select “Record Tracking Ref. Document Details” link at the bottom of the page, to record and view the details of processed tracking reference document.
Select the “Record Hazmat Compliance” link at the bottom of the page to record the hazmat compliance details for the hazardous parts.

Moving customer goods at the line item level to the warehouse – An overview
This page allows you to move the parts received from the customer through a customer goods receipt to the selected multiple storage location ( warehouse/zone/bin). The movement is done at the line item level, that is, the part number available in the selected line number is moved to the selected warehouse. This page allows you to move the parts, which are serial or lot number-controlled. The status of the line number is updated as “Moved”. The system stores the login user ID and the server date along with the modified details.
Enter warehouse, zone and bin details to move the parts received from the customer
Specify the quantity of the part to be moved to the warehouse
Enter warehouse, zone and bin details to move the parts received from the customer
The details of the warehouse, zone and bin where the customer part should be moved, can be entered.
Enter the warehouse code, zone and bin in the “Warehouse #”, “WH – Zone #” and “Bin #” fields in the multiline.
Specify the quantity of the part to be moved to the warehouse
You can enter the quantity of the part moved to various warehouses.
Enter the received quantity of the part in the “Received Qty” field.
Enter the moved quantity of the part in the “Moved Qty” field.
You can assign a user-defined stock status to the moved parts.
Set an appropriate option in the “Stock Status” field to specify the stock status of the part.
