Create Deferral Category – A summary of the activity
All MEL/CDL items are deferred based on certain norms set by the aviation authority. Deferral category defines the deferment limits of the MEL/CDL items and the parameters on which it depends. A MEL/CDL item is associated to an deferral category, and it derives its deferment schedule from that of the deferral category.
The deferral item numbers are identified for the aircraft model configuration in the “Edit Minimum Equipment List” page.
The CDL item numbers are identified for the aircraft model configuration in the “Edit Configuration Deviation List” page.
This activity allows you to categorise the deferral items based on the parameter values. You can create deferral categories that act as reference while entering deferral item details for the model configuration. These deferral categories can be associated to the model configuration with the deferral parts.
You can enter a unique code and description for the deferral category. The deferral of deferral category associated to the deferral item number can be time limited or usage limited. For time-based deferral, you can enter the duration for which deferral item can be deferred. And for usage-based deferral, the deferral limit can be specified in terms of parameter values. Also, you can identify the limit basis as to whether the deferment will be done at the earliest or later.
