Entering facility type resource for a work unit
This page allows you to add or modify the details of the resources of the “Equipment” or “Tools” type required for executing the work unit. Tell me more.
Select the “Estimate Resources – Facilities” link at the bottom of the “Edit Part Program Information” page.
The “Estimate Resources Requirement – Facilities” page appears.
The system displays the following fields in the “Part Details” group box:
Part # |
The number identifying the part for which the facility type resource requirement s are to be defined. |
Part Description |
The textual description of the part. |
Maintenance Process |
The maintenance process of the part, which could be “Hard-Time”, “On-Condition” or “Condition Monitoring”. |
Program Status |
The status of the part program, which could be “Fresh” or “Authorized”. |
Revision # |
The revision number of the part program. |
Enter the following in the “Maintenance Activity Details” group box:
Work unit # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the work unit for which the facility type resource requirement must be specified. The system lists all the work units in “Active” status that have been defined for the part program and prefixes it with “TSK”, “SP” or “WP” based on the type of the work unit. |
Click the “Get Details” pushbutton to retrieve the resource details that are already defined for the work unit.
The system displays the following when you click the “Get Details” pushbutton:
Work Unit Description |
The textual description of the task, standard procedure or work package. |
Maintenance Type |
The type of the maintenance activity to be carried out which could be ““Overhaul”, “Repair”, “Inspection”, "Retire", ”Others” etc., |
Work Center # |
The number identifying the work center where the work unit has to be performed. |
Work Center Description |
The textual description of the work center. |
Enter the following in the “Resource Details” multiline:
Resource # |
The number identifying the resource required for completing the work unit (Alphanumeric, 40). Mandatory. The resource must have already been defined in the “Work Center“ business component and must be unique to the multiline. |

Resource Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the resource. The options available are “Tools”, ”Equipment” and “Others”. |
Note: In the event of modifying the already associated resource number and type, the system displays an error message. Also, to delete an existing resource number, check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline and click the "Delete" pushbutton.
The system fills in the following field after you click the “Edit Resource Estimates” pushbutton:

The textual description of the resource. |
Enter the following:
Time Unit |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the unit of measurement of the resource time, which could be “Hours”, “Days” or “Minutes”. The system sets the field as “Hours” by default. |
Reqd. Duration |
The number of hours, minutes or days the resource is required to complete the work unit (Decimal). Ensure that the number entered in this field is positive. |
Reqd. Qty |
The number of resources required for completing the work unit (Decimal). Mandatory. Ensure that the number entered in this field is positive. |
The system displays the following field when you click the “Update Resource Estimates” pushbutton:
Resource Cost |
The cost of the resource as defined in the “Work Center“ business component. |
Note: Ensure that at least one resource detail is entered in the multiline.
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark the resource for deletion.
Click the Delete icon in the tool bar above the multiline to delete the selected resource.
Select the “Edit Resource Estimates” pushbutton to update the resource details for the work unit.
Note: The system calculates the resource cost for the quantity and the duration specified for the resource in the multiline.
Entering facility type resource for a work unit – An overview
This page allows you to add or modify the details of the resources of the “Equipment” or “Tools” type required for executing the work unit. If you wish to define the resources for the work unit, you can enter details such as resource code, its type, required duration and number of resources needed. You can also retrieve resources that have already been defined for the work unit and modify its details. The system updates the resource details and sets the current server date as the last modified date.

You can specify the type of the resource required for completing the work unit.
Set the “Resource Type” drop-down list box as “Tools” to add the resource of the tools type required for the work unit.
Set the “Resource Type” drop-down list box as “Equipment” to add the resource of the equipment type required for the work unit.
Set the “Resource Type” drop-down list box as “Others” to add resources other than equipment or tools required for work unit.
