Unified Glossary

Basics of using a typical web page

Using Online Help

The “Manage Part Effectivity” page appears.

Search Entity

Use the drop-down list box to select the entity for which you want to record effectivity details. The drop-down list box displays the following: "Part #", "A/C Model #", "A/C Reg #", "NHA Part #", "NHA Part # / Serial #" and "Nose #".

Specify the ID of the entity that you have selected in the input box.

More details on search results

The “Effectivity Details” multiline displays the following for the parts that match the search criteria, which you can modify. You can also define the effectivity attributes for new parts.

Part #

The identification number of the part Mandatory.

The part you specify must be  in Active status and valid as defined in the Part Administration component.

Note

Help facility available

Mfr. Part #

The manufacturer part number of the part for which you are recording part effectivity details (Alphanumeric, 30) Mandatory.

Note that the part you specify must be in Active status and valid as defined in the Part Administration component.

Help facility available

Mfr. Part #

The manufacturer # of the part f or which you are recording part effectivity details (Alphanumeric, 30).

The manufacturer you specify must be defined as a supplier of type ‘Manufacturer’ in the Aircraft and Supplier components.

The manufacturer number is mandatory, if you enter more than one record with the same manufacturer part # in the multiline.

Note

Help facility available

Note: 1) The manufacturer part # and manufacturer # fields are displayed only if the Enable Manufacturer Part # control in transaction" parameter is set to ”Yes” in the Logistics Common Master' business component, in the Set Inventory Process Parameters activity of the Logistics Common Master component.

2) Further, these fields are relevant for components and hence must be specified only for components and not aircraft.

3) Ensure that this Mfr. Part # and Mfr. # has already been defined for part type “Component” in the “Create Parts Main Information” activity of the “Part Administration” business component and is in “Active” status. The manufacturer part # and manufacturer # combination must be valid for the component for which you are recording parameter values, as defined in the “Manage Part Effectivity” page. 4) Note

Effectivity Status

Use the drop-own list box to indicate whether the part is effective for the aircraft model/aircraft/part/component  Mandatory. The drop-down list box displays the following: "Effective", "Conditional Effective" and "Not Effective".

Aircraft Model #

The aircraft model effective for the part. This implies the part can be attached to aircraft of this model.

Note that the aircraft model you specify must be a valid aircraft model as defined in the Aircraft component.

Help facility available

Aircraft Reg. #

The aircraft effective for the part. This implies the part can be attached to this aircraft.

Note that the aircraft you specify must be a valid aircraft of the aircraft model, as defined in the Aircraft component.

Help facility available

Note: If you wish to define part effectivity for an aircraft/model, do not specify the following fields: NHA Part #, NHA Serial #, NHA Mfr. Part # and NHA Part Mfr. #.

NHA Part #

The parent part effective for the part. This implies the part can be attached to this Next Higher Assembly (NHA) part.

The part you specify must be a valid part as defined in the Part Administration component.

Note

Help facility available

NHA Mfr. Part #

The manufacturer part # of the NHA or parent part of the part or which you are recording part effectivity details.

Note that the part you specify must be in Active status and valid as defined in the Part Administration component.

The NHA manufacturer part # is mandatory, if you wish to specify the NHA serial # for the part for which you are recording part effectivity details.

Help facility available

NHA Part Mfr. #

The manufacturer # of the NHA or parent part of the part or which you are recording part effectivity details.

The manufacturer number is mandatory, if you enter more than one record with the same manufacturer part # in the multiline.

Note

Help facility available

Note: 1) The NHA Manufacturer Part # and NHA Part Manufacturer # fields are displayed only if the Enable Manufacturer Part # control in transaction" parameter is set to ”Yes” in the Logistics Common Master' business component, in the Set Inventory Process Parameters activity of the Logistics Common Master component.

2) Further, these fields are relevant for components and hence must be specified only for components and not aircraft.

3) The NHA Mfr. Part #, NHA-Mfr. # and NHA Serial # that you specify must be valid for a part # and Serial # combination as defined in the Stock Maintenance component. The manufacturer part # and manufacturer # and combination must be valid for the component for which you are recording parameter values, as defined in the “Manage Part Effectivity” page.

NHA Serial #

The serial # of the parent part effective for the part. This implies the part can be attached to NHA part # and NHA serial #, which identifies a component.

Note that the part # and serial # you specify must be a valid combination as defined in the Stock Maintenance component.

Help facility available

Note: You must specify Aircraft Model # and/or Aircraft Reg. # or NHA Part # and/or Serial #. However, if you have entered the serial #, you must also specify the part #.

Effectivity Notes

Any additional information on the effectivity or suitability of the part to aircraft or component. You must specify effectivity notes, if the Effectivity Status is set to “Conditional Effective”.

Ref. Doc. Type

The type of the of the reference document that states/confirms the effectivity of the part.

Ref. Doc. #

The ID of the reference document that states/confirms the effectivity of the part.

Ref. Doc. Rev #

The revision number of the reference document that states/confirms the effectivity of the part.

Current Effectivity

The effectivity status of the part, which would be "Effective", "Conditional Effective" or "Not Effective".

Part Description

The short name/description of the part.

Created By

The employee code of person who defined the effectivity attributes of the part for the first time.
