This activity helps you to associate a part with an existing part account group.

The “Associate Parts” page appears.

Part #

A unique number identifying the part (Alphanumeric, 32). You can enter this code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the parts whose codes are similar to the value entered here. Leave this field blank to search for all parts irrespective of the part number.

Reference Status

Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the part account groups that are to be retrieved. The system displays the options “Under Creation”, “Fresh” and “Active”, or leaves the field blank.

The system leaves the field blank, by default.

Part Description

A textual description of the part (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter this description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the part s whose descriptions are similar to the value entered here. Leave this field blank to search for all the parts irrespective of the part description.

Part Type

Use the drop-down list box to specify the type of the parts to be searched. The system displays all the part types as listed in the “Part Administration” business component.

The system leaves this field blank, by default.

Part Account Group

A unique code identifying the part account group. (Alphanumeric, 20). You can enter this code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the part account groups whose codes are similar to the value entered here. Leave this field blank to search for all groups irrespective of the group name.

Associated?

Use the drop-down list box to specify where the part is associated with a part account group. The system displays the options “Yes’ and “No”, or it leaves the field blank.

The system leaves this field blank, by default.

Part Group

Use the drop-down list box to select the part group. The system displays all the valid part groups defined in the “Part Administration” business component. Leave this field blank to search for all groups irrespective of the part group.

Part Category

Use the drop-down list box to select the part category. The system displays all the “Active” quick codes defined for the part category in the “Part Administration” business component. Leave this field blank to search for all groups irrespective of the part category.

Part #

The number identifying the part.

Part Description

A textual description of the part.

Part Type

The type to which the part belongs.

Part Account Group

Use the drop-down list box to specify the part account group to which you want to associate the part. The system displays all the part account groups created in the system, which are in “Active” status.

However, if the part account group has already been defined for the part, it cannot be modified in this activity. To modify the part account group, you must access the activity Initiate Part Master Controlled Data Change.

The system displays the following:

Account Group Description

A textual description of the part account group (Alphanumeric, 60).

Issue Basis

The basis on which the part is issued, which could be “Returnable”, “non-Returnable” or
”Core Returnable”.

Expense Type

The Expense type, which could be “Capital” or “Revenue”.

Reference Status

The status of the part account group. The system displays the options “Under Creation”, “Fresh” and “Active” or blank.

Note: If the part is already associated with an account group, the values of the reference status, part account group and the account group description will be displayed. In such a case, you can modify the previous association.

Select All

Check this box to select all the parts listed in the multiline for association with the part account group.

Part Account Group

Use the drop-down list box to select the part account group with which the parts listed in the multiline should be associated. The system displays all the part account groups created in the login OU.

The system leaves this field blank by default.

Note: Ensure that the setting  “Account Group of Activated Part” in the “Set Options” activity must be set as “Allowed” to associate an active part with a part account group. If the option is set as “Not Allowed”, then only those part account groups with the status “Under Creation” can be associated with it.
