Upload Initial Balance – A summary of the activity

Component overview

This upload facility has been provided to ease the process of data entry and save the time required for entering the initial balances. This activity is used once when the installation is made for the first time or when tax book becomes effective for the first time. The tax years / periods, the tax book and the account codes must have been defined before the initial balances are uploaded to the system. The tax book cannot be closed until the initial balance entry has been completed.

This page allows you to search and select a tax book for which you want to upload the initial balances. The system retrieves the tax year / period for which the initial balance has to be uploaded. The system updates the status as “Completed” for the tax books in which the initial balance entry has been completed. The uploaded initial balance is then posted as the opening balance for the tax book for the relevant tax period.
