Administering the smart card interface

This page allows you to modify the status and the expiry date of the smart card. You can enter the search criteria to retrieve the smart card details. You can modify the card status and expiry date and update the smart card details.

The system displays the following field:

Date Format

The format in which the date fields should appear in this page. The system displays the date format from the “User Preferences” business component.

Employee ID

The code identifying the employee who is enrolled for the smart card application (Alphanumeric, 20).

Help facility available.

Smart Card User Name

The name of the employee (Alphanumeric, 50).

Smart Card ID

The number identifying the smart card to be administered (Alphanumeric, 30).

Card Status

Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the smart card to be administered. The system lists the following options:

  • “Active” – Select this option to retrieve the details of all the smart cards that are active.

  • “Blocked” – Select this option to retrieve the details of all the smart cards that are blocked.

  • “Locked” – Select this option to retrieve the details of all the smart cards that are locked.

  • “Unlock” – Select this option to retrieve the details of all the smart cards that are unlocked.

  • “Cancelled” – Select this option to retrieve the details of all the smart cards that are cancelled.

  • “All” – Select this option to retrieve the details of all the smart cards irrespective of their status.

The system displays "All" by default.

Issue Date From

The starting date in the range of dates during which the smart card was issued (Date Format).

Issue Date To

The ending date in the range of dates during which the smart card was issued (Date Format).

Expiry Date From

The starting date in the range of dates during which the smart card will expire (Date Format).

Expiry Date To

The ending date in the range of dates during which the smart card will expire (Date Format).

Smart Card Application

Use the drop-down list box to select the application for which the smart card is used. E.g. Electronic Signature.

The system displays the following in the “Search Results” multiline:

Smart Card ID

The number identifying the smart card.

Employee ID

The code identifying the employee who is enrolled for the smart card application.

Smart Card User Name

The name of the employee.

Smart Card Application

The application for which the smart card is used, which could be “Electronic Signature”.

Card Status

Use the drop-down list box to modify the status of the smart card. The system lists the following options:

  • “Active” – Select this option, to activate the smart card that is in “Blocked” or “Cancelled” status.

  • “Blocked” – Select this option, to block the smart card that is in “Active”, "Locked" or "Unlock" status.

  • “Unlock” – Select this option, to unlock the smart card that is in “Locked” status.

  • "Returned" - Select this option, to indicate that the smart card is returned by the user.

  • "Cancelled” - Select this option, to cancel the smart card that is in “Active”, "Blocked", "Locked" or "Unlock" status.

Note: You cannot block the smart cards that are in "Cancelled" status.

The smart card in “Returned” status can be issued as a new card to the employee, in the “Smart Card Issue” activity.

The system displays the following fields:

Smart Card Type

The type of the smart card.

Date of Issue

The date on which the smart card was issued.

Date of Expiry

The date on which the smart card expires (Date Format). The employee cannot use the smart card after this date (Date Format).
