Smart Card Administration – A summary of the activity

In this activity, you can change the status of the smart cards and their expiry dates periodically, under the following circumstances:

• Users entering the wrong PIN more than the permitted number of times causing the card to be locked.

• Extension of expiry dates.

• Need for temporary blocking of smart cards due to various reasons  such as misplacing of cards, issuing  additional  cards for an application, etc.

• Returning of smart cards by employees who leave the organization, or who no longer need it.

• Cancellation of lost or unreturned or damaged smart cards.
